Ukrainian President Zelensky and the leaders of several NATO countries spoke on Saturday with President Trump and stressed they are ready for an unconditional 30-day ceasefire starting Monday, Ukraine's foreign minister said.

Trump called for a 30-day ceasefire in the Russia-Ukraine war earlier this week. While Ukraine agreed, the Kremlin hasn't given a clear answer so far.

The leaders of France, U.K., Germany and Poland visited Kyiv on Saturday and met with Zelensky to discuss the ceasefire plan.
At the end of the meeting Zelensky and the European leaders called Trump and briefed him on their position.
"Ukraine and all allies are ready for a full unconditional ceasefire on land, air, and at sea for at least 30 days starting already on Monday," said Andrii Sybiha, Ukraine's foreign minister.

Two sources with knowledge of the 15-minute call said Zelensky and the European leaders told Trump that if a ceasefire is agreed upon, Ukraine is ready to begin direct peace talks with Russia.
They stressed to Trump that if Putin refuses the 30-day ceasefire, European countries will impose new sanctions on Russia, the sources said.
"Trump seemed satisfied to see Ukraine embracing the ceasefire and accepting direct negotiations with Russia," one source said.
The second source said Trump was glad to hear they all back his proposal. "We're waiting for Russia's move now," the source said.

It's time for Trump to walk away from this disaster and pivot to concentrate on something like a Middle East peace deal and let the Russians and Ukrainians resolve their differences and discover what's real and what's not.
Hate to see even more people die in this senseless and doomed conflict but both sides wish to prosecute the war and the Ukraine and the EU are desperate to drag the US into direct military intervention on the ground in Ukraine.
It's truth that only President Trump can bring peace to Ukraine. He went in and asked both sides to settle for peace and they both stiff armed him.
The time has come for the US to walk away and wait for one or both sides to come back and ask Trump to come back and mediate when they are ready. It's sad because this Russia truce, self serving as it was, was a legit overture to kick off serious peace talks combined with the tentative, exploratory extensions of the cease fire if talks progressed.
Instead, Ukraine ignored the truce and deliberately provoked Russia with a direct, concerted large scale attack on Moscow during their 80 Year End of WWII celebration.
I suspect that the Trump Administration is going to announce a significant breakthrough on the resolution of the conflict in the Middle East and a pivot by the Administration away from Ukraine to concentrate on a historic opportunity for a Middle East peace initiative some time in the near future - possibly as soon as Monday.
