Reza Pahlavi, the son and would-be heir to the dictator who was deposed in Iran’s 1979 revolution, has openly tethered his political fortunes to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. (IRGC). As such, Pahlavi is most certainly an individual that the U.S. should not support.
Flawed logic says that Pahlavi, the son of the Shah, is the ideal replacement, based on the premise that the people now killing Iranian civilians in defense of the “Islamic revolution” might one day help to overturn the very regime that defines itself by that revolution.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
If Israel were to attack they would need our KC-135 tankers to assist.
Trump could put the screws to them and cut off their oil revenue by pressuring others to buy it somewhere else.
Iran needs an unelected brutal ruler. Well, fake elected is fine.
Have it now, why change?
No, it's up to the Ayatollahs but I don't expect them to choose peace.
This reminds me of the late “Baby Doc” Jean Claude Duvalier of Haiti. The Hatian dictator who was president of Haiti from 1971 till his overthrow in 1986. That was the end of the Duvalier regime.
Baby Shah, doo-doo, doo-doo, doo-doo
Baby Shah
Iran doesn’t need a Shah. It also doesn’t need the clowns who are in charge now.
Perhaps we let the Iranians figure it out for themselves.
Hey, don’t make this Persian-al
As bad as it was under “Baby Doc”, it’s worse now.
You can’t overthrow a well-entrenched dictatorship without the support of the people with the guns. Which means whatever comes next will also be a dictatorship, but you hope for a more rational one.
It’s arguable that Iran was far more free under the Shah and his Savak than it has ever been since or ever could be. It’s difficult to imagine a democracy in Iran or any Muslim country that doesn’t have a strong hand keeping the monsters at bay.
**Iran needs an unelected brutal ruler. Well, fake elected is fine.**
Could be true. If there’s gonna be a bloodbath it should be done quick.
**This reminds me of the late “Baby Doc” Jean Claude Duvalier of Haiti.**
Baby Doc was 19 years old. Fat and totally over his head.
**Perhaps we let the Iranians figure it out for themselves.**
Missed opportunity. The Kenyan had one in ‘09.
Iran has too much to offer the world including beautiful women.
This Reza fella. If the P.I. could elect the son of Marcos the old Shah could very well represent nostalgia.
He needs to get a job.
(Shah nah nah nah Shah nah nah nah nah)
My bud from Iran lost everything. He said there are 100k of them with guns. They’re the ones who act as fashion police and whack women who show too much skin.
When the place heats up someone like Trump needs to tell them all to take off their head scarfs and ID those ‘enforcers’. They will be easy to round up that way.
It’s hard to think that there are a lot of people wanting to bring back the Shah. He was an upstart. Not a lot of legitimacy.
Surprised the son of the Shah would align himself with the IRGC, the military wing of the islamic forces that overthrew his father.
You think it was Islamic forces that overthrew the shah? Our government was behind it, just like they are behind many such changes in power.
