A former housing official who worked under President George H. W. Bush has made an astonishing claim that the U.S. government spent years funneling money into the creation of a secret underground “city” where the rich and powerful can shelter in the event of a “near-extinction event.”
Catherine Austin Fitts, who served as the assistant secretary of Housing and Urban Development for Housing between 1989 and 1990, made the shocking allegations during an appearance on former Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s podcast, although there is no concrete evidence to support her claims.
Fitts, 74, who is originally from Philadelphia, cited research by Michigan State University economist Mark Skidmore, who released a report in 2017 stating that he and a team of scholars had uncovered $21 trillion in “unauthorized spending in the departments of Defense and Housing and Urban Development for the years 1998-2015.”
At the time, Skidmore noted that he first began investigating the unreported spending after he heard Fitts “refer to a report which indicated the Army had $6.5 trillion in unsupported adjustments, or spending, in fiscal 2015.”
“Given the Army’s $122 billion budget, that meant unsupported adjustments were 54 times spending authorized by Congress. Typically, such adjustments in public budgets are only a small fraction of authorized spending,” the report noted.

What you are talking about in having a bunch of military bases in the western US all connected by some tunnel system is quite a different thing.
Having two or three bases that are close to each other and built on exactly the right type of ground is a really big job but might be possible.
What you are talking about is not.
Hiding in plain sight? They are always doing SOME kind of construction in Las Vegas, aren’t they? Makes me wonder.

It was written in the 1990s—so even that is several decades old technology.
Folks like DARPA do cutting edge research for the military—most folks agree they are decades ahead of publicly available technology.

It’s hard with a lot of these “alt media” heroes and heroines. They’re likable. They say a lot that you can agree with. You can learn from them. They might be smart.
But then they drop the turd into your information punch bowl that tells you they’ve been controlled opposition all along. They are there to mislead and/or discredit you.
She’s had a couple of the most obvious indicators all along: 1) Getting in trouble with the law, in her case apparently with a long and protracted case, and 2) Coming from an unlikely background in that she has admitted from time to time that her family is among the privileged elite.
The earth is a little less forgiving.
Suggest that you talk with engineers that actually dig tunnels.
The equivalent to Cheyenne mountain except for politicians.

China has no trouble building them.
We own a cabin and land in an isolated part of the Boston Mountains of Arkansas, where for years we have heard a low rumbling sound at times, mostly at night but also during the days. It sounds faintly like the sound of a ship’s engine or the distant sounds of a pipeline compressor. But there’s nothing like that around there. The area id riddled with caves and sinkholes so the wife thinks that there is digging going on to expand some of the caves.

Dr. Skidmore and his grad students have actually found about $145 trillion of money that is missing. Then that information was hidden behind the cloak of national security.
Dr Strangelove immediately came to my mind. Especially the part of extra beautiful women to help re-populate.

Yeah, well they can run but they can't hide and they all have their face to face with God coming up. They might buy what? A few more years?
And even if they survive the temporary situation, how do they expect to survive long term? What kind of survival skills do they have besides depending on someone else doing everything else for them?
If something this existed then it would have to be in a restricted area controlled by the military. Maybe area 51.
Not just the US, but also Russia and China have such underground cities. All part of Cold War planning. The critical thing is how well they are maintained.
They were built for many reasons, including temporary storage for nuclear weapons, for large numbers of soldiers and equipment, etc. But soldiers eat a LOT of food, so there are many con-exes (shipping containers) filled with C-rations or later, MREs. Granted, after all these years, it’s a good question if the C-rats are still good.
Those for bureaucrats and their families were designed to be more luxurious, of course. Some of the largest cities were built in Virginia.
You can have a public area with just parts there are restricted.
For example—imagine Lockheed had a manufacturing plant producing something for the government.
There were would be some security—employee only access to most areas, for example.
Then they could just partition off part of the area as highly restricted—and even have private security patrol it.
Then they could be building a publicly viewable building as cover—and they could be digging tunnels at will.
There are so many different ways to do this—if .gov wants to do it.
I'm sure our government has built all kinds of things without our knowledge.
