It took two weeks to arrive here in Michigan, mailed from Indiana. I finally got fed up waiting and went to the local nursery and bought plants already growing in pots.
Gurney’s doesn’t have the greatest reputation. I get their catalog, but never order from them.
Next season, try Jung’s. You’ll like the service and timely delivery and you’ll be supporting my retirement, LOL!
There’s a nursery near my sons house that carries specialty seeds and so I went there and sure enough, they had what I was looking for.
I don’t get it either, the shipping charges for something you could throw in an envelope and slap a stamp on. Just another profit stream I guess. It’s also discouraging me from buying from them.
I just went to a local high school’s greenhouse sale and found some Chinese 5 color peppers. I got a plant and figured I’d give it a try. Anyone have any experience growing them?
I also found a Ponderosa Red tomato, which I got and was thrilled when I googled it up. A meaty, low seed, beefsteak, heirloom variety.
And I got some local wildflower seeds that are already cold stratified.
