I ordered some DSMO.
Do you remember where you saw the information about DMSO and joint replacements?
Can't remember where I saw it, but since then I have seen people comment that they use DMSO even though they have a artificial joint. It seems to be a concern:
Using DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide) on an artificial joint is a debated topic. While DMSO has anti-inflammatory properties that may help with joint pain and swelling, there are concerns about its interaction with prosthetic materials.
Absorption: DMSO is a powerful solvent that penetrates the skin and carries other substances into the bloodstream. This raises concerns about whether it could affect the materials in an artificial joint.
Medical Guidance: Some surgeons advise against using DMSO on artificial joints due to unknown long-term effects.
Limited Research: There is no official FDA approval for using DMSO on artificial joints, and studies on its safety in this context are limited.
If you're considering using DMSO, it's best to consult your doctor or orthopedic specialist to ensure it won’t interfere with your joint replacement.
There might be a difference in using DMSO on an area where an artificial joint is or using it somewhere else, but SMSO does end up in the blood stream.
Bigg Red, the Midwestern Doctor website has very extensive articles about DMSO
