I’m intrigued what a good steak meal for 2 costs.

Cost of a steak dinner for two can vary greatly depending on the restaurant. A simple steak dinner for two could be under $50, while a high-end steakhouse with a premium cut and drinks could easily exceed $300.

Appetizers, salads, sides, wine, and other beverages can significantly increase the bill plus tip and sales tax can add another 20-25% to your final bill.

Walmart occasionally has day-after rotisserie chickens on clearance for $2.02.

My wife and I plan to enjoy a steak dinner after Church today. We will probably split one dinner for three reasons: economy, economy, and economy.

“I’m intrigued what a good steak meal for 2 costs.”

Bone-in tenderloin at local old school steakhouse is $75. With tip and a decent bottle of wine you’re looking at $300. That’s the price for the last few years.

If you don’t go for overprice alcohol and appetizers, you can probably get out for $100 a person at a chain like Capital Grill or Ruth’s Chris. Add another $100 for appetizers and deserts and tips; so budget about $250 - $300, more for heavy drinkers or wine snobs - perhaps a lot more.

If you are going for the food instead of the restaurant name, you can probably get out for not much over $100 for two (I’d budget $150) for a place like Seasons 52. Wine seems to be their profit center.

Interesting tidbit Capital Grille, Ruth’s Chris, Seasons 52, Eddie V’s and ..... Olive Garden(!!!) are all owned by the same company.

I’m intrigued what a good steak meal for 2 costs.

We had Texas Roadhouse a month ago and paid about $135 for five adults to eat and leave a nice tip. Worked out to $27/each.
