The US needs to bring back Country of Orogin Labeling (COOL) for beef and pork.

STAT.

And it’s not just Mexico.

From a few months ago...

“...The parasite made a devastating comeback in 2024, infecting livestock, wildlife and in rare cases humans across Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras, Guatemala, and Mexico...”

Tried some a few year ago. Ribeyes. Lacked flavor. Oh, no. I could have the fly. Pffft. There should be a shot for that.

I don’t eat beef. But if I did, I’d want grassfed beef, the healthiest. And it should come from the USA.

Honestly, we probably don't really want to know.

Buy local. Also plenty of co-ops to choose from for good American beef to be shipped to your door.

WHY do we need beef from Mexico in the first place?!?!

Good Golly! We have TWELVE WHOLE STATES that do little more than raise cattle!

https://exploringanimals.com/u-s-states-that-dominate-americas-beef-production/

A dope like me raises her OWN steer every 18 month cycle. Grass fed in season, hay and sweet oats to finish. Lots of water, fresh air and sunshine. No ‘feed lot’ for my guys! If I can do it, pretty much anyone can that has the space.

People are too far removed from their food sources. Ugh!

I was wondering how soon the screw worms would be back in the USA with all the illegals who had flooded the border.

That is awesome that you raise your own! We buy a 1/4 cow every so often from an old local farmer. I shop for farm land for my post retirement work but don’t expect to buy anything any time soon as the prices are obscene.

I honestly can’t blame the Europeans and others from refusing our beef exports because of the hormones, modified grains, and antibiotics we feed our cattle any more than us refusing Mexican beef over the maggots they allow in theirs. We really do need to clean up our own act.

Heck, we have had dangerous pests creeping northward from the lower 48 every since the pipeline.
