Donald Trump blasts ‘stupid’ NFL owners for passing on Shedeur Sanders

Mel Kiper is hardly the biggest name in Shedeur Sanders’ corner.

Donald Trump himself blasted teams for passing on Sanders in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft in a Truth Social post on Friday in which the Commander-in-Chief praised his father, football great Deion Sanders, and called out the NFL owners who passed on the prospect.

“What is wrong with NFL owners, are they STUPID?” he wrote. “Deion Sanders was a great college football player, and was even greater in the NFL. He’s also a very good coach, streetwise and smart! Therefore, Shedeur, his quarterback son, has PHENOMENAL GENES, and is all set for Greatness. He should be “picked” IMMEDIATELY by a team that wants to WIN. Good luck Shedeur, and say hello to your wonderful father!”

“Rams could also take a QB at the end of 3”

I think the Rams trading their first round pick to get Alanta’s first rounder next year signals they didn’t like this years QB class. They now have two first round picks next year though I doubt either pick will be in the top 15. But they could package the two picks to move up into a higher draft position if there is must get QB they like.

It is the Art Modell curse. Art has been blocked from being inducted into the Hall of Fame by Browns fans. Until that wrong is righted they are doomed to failure.

President Trump voicing support for Sanders, who is a very average NFL QB prospect, will make liberal heads explode...

RATs to one another: "But...but...but...Trump likes him, so we have to oppose him."

But he's black, and a quarterback...we can't oppose him or we'll be racist!"

Bleach transfusions?

...One more example when Trump didn’t understand when to STFU.

Same thing with Cam Skatebo from Arizona State. Big baller is still undrafted.

At this point, no team is going to draft Sanders. Too much drama to explain as to why a team picked him now. I say he goes undrafted.

“Belichick would convert him to WR.”

I think there are a number of reasons he hasn’t been picked yet. First is his body shape and size. At 6’2” and 215 pounds he is the right shape for backfield position, but he lacks the speed, especially at the NFL level to be there. And that lack of speed for a wide receiver is the kiss of death as many of the corners in the league’s game is based on theirs. At his size he’s too small for a tight end, and we’re back to the speed thing again. So the only real competitive position for him is Qback. But he will be a pocket passer and not a third running back that has become more desireable for many of the teams in the NFL. Pocket passers are like the dodo.

5th round to Cleveland. I’m guessing a little paperwork went along with the offer which Specifically states daddy isn’t allowed anywhere near the team or the facilities. The message was sent. Hopefully it was received.
