Mel Kiper is hardly the biggest name in Shedeur Sanders’ corner.
Donald Trump himself blasted teams for passing on Sanders in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft in a Truth Social post on Friday in which the Commander-in-Chief praised his father, football great Deion Sanders, and called out the NFL owners who passed on the prospect.
“What is wrong with NFL owners, are they STUPID?” he wrote. “Deion Sanders was a great college football player, and was even greater in the NFL. He’s also a very good coach, streetwise and smart! Therefore, Shedeur, his quarterback son, has PHENOMENAL GENES, and is all set for Greatness. He should be “picked” IMMEDIATELY by a team that wants to WIN. Good luck Shedeur, and say hello to your wonderful father!”

I was half listening to a draft show on the radio. They said that his throws didn’t have any “snap” in the combine. They also said the only reason why he was even considered in the first couple rounds was his last name. Without that he would be a late round pick or maybe even a post-draft pickup for a team.
I’ll go with you on that. They get decent QB’s and can’t do a thing.

I turned off the NFL in the 3rd quarter of the 4th game of the 2017 season. It was a good decision.

They do, but they also don’t want a guy who isn’t a team player. They all know they have to deal with his daddy too, which is probably the real root cause of his slide out of the third round. Milroe just went before Sanders. That’s says something.
