“We built it, you make it.”
That’s the motto for Slate, a new American electric vehicle company, which just revealed its launch model and is backed by ex-Amazon (AMZN) executives, including, reportedly, Jeff Bezos’s family office
Slate said its EV pickup, a bare-bones truck with a footprint smaller than a Ford (F) Maverick, will cost somewhere in the mid-$20K range, and it will come in any color you want — as long as it’s slate gray, that is. The option-challenged vehicle offers a choice of two battery sizes for the rear-wheel-drive truck: a 52.7-kWh battery pack targeting 150 miles of range and an 84.3-kWh pack with 240 miles of range.

“but you also have not addressed the question about why you feel the need”
Good one! Still FALSELY assigning motives to me eh? You are the one assigning motives to me I never intended and making false statements about me. Cry me a river there spanky.
[[ Statements with words like “always,” “never,” or specific numbers are likely to be facts]] https://academichelp.net/humanities/philosophy/opinion-vs-fact.html
Did,ya catch that? So you stated that I “never miss an opportunity” you infsct stated your OPINION (a demostratably false statement i might add) as a likely fact by saying “never miss”- I never mentioned anything about the looks of the vehicle being an established fact, nor even implied it- I gave an opinion- expressed my feelings views or ideas about something- ie opinion.
By the way, have you proven that the vehicle doesn’t scream “metrosexual” yet? No? Then how can you make a claim of fsct like that? (using your own illogic) until you can prove that it “doesn’t scream metrosexual” your statement is noth8ng more than opinion
Be careful now- making up more lies about me doesn’t help your case any.
[[Stating “beer tastes good” is stating a fact.
Stating “beer tastes good to me” is an opinion.]]
Nope, sorry, you are only partially right. It is NOT stating an established fact that “beer tastes good” it is simply an opinion- seriosuly- look it up before you go on and on... opinions are Statements about feelings views or ideas about something or someone, whether stated or not, are just that, opinions- “beer tastes good” is opinion- noone in their right mind demands that it be viewed as established fact. If everyone in the world agreed, and were polled, then you could say it and mean it as a fact.
What aren’t you understanding about this?
What’s yer point? Its not an insult or derogatory-
And it is a fact demonstratable, that you do just as I have stated- you spend a lot of time pouncing on people on fr for mistakes and insulting them- soe this g you have not addressed though asked several times to do so.
“By the way, have you proven that the vehicle doesn’t scream “metrosexual” yet?”
I analyzed 10 degrees of freedom. No screaming metrosexual.
I conclude based on your lack of factual basis that your post was based on your unwarranted and preconceived bias.
Fancy words for lies you said about me- assigning motives that were never intended! Youm have NO IDEA what my motives or “preconceived biases” are. You assigned false motives to me- and that constitutes a lie- infact its termed “bearing false witness”against someone.
I’ll give you the last post- your apparently willful lack of understanding speak to your posts- next time you wanna insult someone, make sure you understand the difference between terms/Statements- or don’t, up to you.
Interesting concept. It looks kind of like the old Nissan / Toyota pickups for the 70’s. Not even side facing jump seats. BUT you can DIY additional seats, a C Pillar and a top to make it an SUV / Bronco of sorts.
>> Add in maintenance and capital costs and you are talking about $8k a year about $500k a lifetime.
I have had the vehicle about 14 years. I have less than $1500 in maintenance during that time — including on-schedule oil changes. $100/year average. Oh, and one set of tires — another $1500 — another $100/year. Did I mention I do my own repairs?
Here’s the simple truth: you have no idea what you’re talking about.
I has said someone is going to make a fortune with a 400-800V 50kw generator that boosts the range of any EV it’s connected too....
Yeah the Chinese thought the same they are going to make a killing. 70kw to 150kw and one version has a built in clutch and differential for direct drive of the axle it sits over. They are kicking our butts in tech.
The Tesla Semi at 82,000lbs gross weight has documented 1,700 watt hours per mile average use rates. At 65 mph that’s 110KW average load. Yeah that 150KW powers a Tesla Semi sized EV your bro bro truck is using less on the motorway it’s just physics bro.
https://press.zf.com/press/en/releases/release_85376.html
This is exactly what they should have built. 150km is 84 freedom lengths and double the average 5 day commute and also more then double the 95N trip of 30 miles actually it’s 96% of all trips are under 30 miles in the USA - DOT
Texas retail power is 8 cents per kWh, these sized EV are going to be in the 300-350 watt hours per mile range. That’s 2.4 cents per mile in electrons. Assuming 30 mpg for the ICE version you would need petrol at 72 cents per gallon today not 1970s boomer money today’s money to equal 2.4 cents per mile. It should be clear why plug in makes sense.
Given that range extenders only run at peak efficiency you can bank on 45 mpg when in range extender mode once the pack gets to 10% DOD. Five min refuel, unlimited range with 5 min stops and 40+ mpg yeah it’s winner. We will never see it due to the idiot chicken tax.
Charge at home overnight off a 20 amp 240V why 20amp? Because any normal 15-20amp 120V outlet in a home can be turned into a 20amp 240V by adding a second breaker to the existing wire in the panel you can even split wire it where one outlet is 240V hot to hot the other outlets are all 120V single hot to neutral home depot sells the combo outlets. 11 bucks and now you have a car plug anywhere in your garage or outside.. 20 amp @ 240V over 8 hours is 38.4kWh that’s well over 120 miles at 300wh per mile. Virtually no one commutes 100+ miles per day.
