Interesting concept. It looks kind of like the old Nissan / Toyota pickups for the 70’s. Not even side facing jump seats. BUT you can DIY additional seats, a C Pillar and a top to make it an SUV / Bronco of sorts.
This is exactly what they should have built. 150km is 84 freedom lengths and double the average 5 day commute and also more then double the 95N trip of 30 miles actually it’s 96% of all trips are under 30 miles in the USA - DOT
Texas retail power is 8 cents per kWh, these sized EV are going to be in the 300-350 watt hours per mile range. That’s 2.4 cents per mile in electrons. Assuming 30 mpg for the ICE version you would need petrol at 72 cents per gallon today not 1970s boomer money today’s money to equal 2.4 cents per mile. It should be clear why plug in makes sense.
Given that range extenders only run at peak efficiency you can bank on 45 mpg when in range extender mode once the pack gets to 10% DOD. Five min refuel, unlimited range with 5 min stops and 40+ mpg yeah it’s winner. We will never see it due to the idiot chicken tax.
Charge at home overnight off a 20 amp 240V why 20amp? Because any normal 15-20amp 120V outlet in a home can be turned into a 20amp 240V by adding a second breaker to the existing wire in the panel you can even split wire it where one outlet is 240V hot to hot the other outlets are all 120V single hot to neutral home depot sells the combo outlets. 11 bucks and now you have a car plug anywhere in your garage or outside.. 20 amp @ 240V over 8 hours is 38.4kWh that’s well over 120 miles at 300wh per mile. Virtually no one commutes 100+ miles per day.
