If the family owned independent Chinese restaurant has my favorite: garlic and ginger chicken with steamed fresh vegetables and rice, does that mean it has an unimportant trace of ginger?
How would we consume another type such as powdered ginger or other forms in enough quantity?
MARY ANN!
First thought as well. lol.
I heard about balut from an older brother who was on Okinawa in WWII. If memory serves, balut is a chicken or duck egg with a baby bird inside, which is taken from the nest, the peep or duckling dies, the egg is buried in the ground until it is totally rotten. The rotten eggs are then sold in the streets from pushcarts, as snacks I guess. That’s accurate enough for shooting the breeze on FR. Blessings.
At my age, I'd take either 🤣
I wonder about pickled which I really like
Gingerol and shogaol don’t appear to have any labile chemical bonds like an ester or amide. (I just looked them up on Google images).
They should withstand reasonable temperatures.
Or you could eat pickled ginger with sushi, you’ll get the benefits of ginger and omega-3’s.
Poor Tina Louise. She had to play the self-absorbed, high maintenance. manipulative movie star next to the sweet girl next door. She wasn’t built for island life but did her best. It could have been much worse. What if it was Winona Rider. And then. . . . later, what her husband did to her in “The Stepford Wives”!
You wrote: “A lot of studies, or at least their articles, don’t really clarify if they are studied in raw form, or cooked.”
Halfway down in the article is this: “When it comes to the type of ginger, Vuppuluri recommends the raw ingredient because it’s the most potent, leading to maximum antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.”
Bwahahahahaha
Oh great now ginger prices are going to go up.
One thing to be warned about if you decide to go the ginger route: that first day or two don’t get too far away from the bathroom. There is a little bit of a... uh... cleanse that happens when you first start. You’ll be back to normal in by day 3 maybe 4. But the beginning is less than fun.
No, it’s in produce. It’s tan lumpy things. You have to peel it and shred or slice it into recipes but it sure is good! Snibble a little for nausea.
lol. See #15
Thanks.
"What's this I hear about Italians eating placenta?
Childbirth is worrisome enough without some sous chef waiting to..."
"What?"
"Really?"
"Never mind."
(This is my way of saying 'maddog55' wins the internet today)
crystalized ginger is the only way I can eat enough to benefit medically
sometimes I make a tea with it but most of the time I eat it like candy
some grocery stores stock crystalized ginger in the produce section
Thanks. I’ll look for that.
That’s pretty cool. It’s a good idea!
Its supposed to help with Prostate Cancer. (Something to research if interested.)
Balut is great.
Sorry Charlie. Mary Ann all the way.
Another vote for her.
