The Who haven’t existed for me as a current band since the day Keith Moon died. Led Zeppelin had the grace to call it a day when John Bonham passed - Roger, Pete and John should have done the same.

We saw The Who (Daltry and Townshend) just a year or maybe two ago. The still had it. Awesome show! They are older, but I wouldnt consider either to be fat or complacent. For their age they looked pretty good and Roger could still belt it out.

“Caveman” - a great movie that I had forgotten about - thanks for jarring that one back into my fleeting consciousness.

He must have missed the “shak-a-laka” part one too often.

I read that Keith Moon taught him and gave him his first drum set. And then later on I read that the Who’s second drummer taught him so now I don’t know

Obviously more to this story ... There must have been some incident that really ticked them off.

Making changes to the line-up of The Who at this point is like second-guessing whether Patton should command the 7th Army in the Mediterranean Theater of WWII.

Yeah, everybody knows that rocker drums should be going "ratta-tatta-tatta-ratta-tatta-tatt!

30 years in the band, and he was Keith Moon’s second replacement.

Never the same after Keith Moon passed.

In 1966 I would have traveled half way around the world to see The Who,The Stones,The Yardbirds and others. That is if I wasn't barely 15 and didn't have any cash.

I wouldn't walk across the street to see them today. Rock was meant to be performed by kids in the teens,twenties...and maybe thirties.

Of course many disagree there.

Turns out that Keith Moon was Zac's godfather, not his uncle. That is just what he called him.

Keith Moon was renting the same flat as Cass Elliot of the Mama's & the Papa's, owned by Harry Neilson, where she died 4 years before Keith Moon rented it, and is where he died. Harry was reluctant to rent it to Keith, because Harry believed it was cursed. Townshend disagreed, assuring him that "lightning wouldn't strike the same place twice". (Townshend 2012, p. 268 Who I Am, A Memoir)

I can remember the time when Pete Townshend would call out to the live audience if there were someone among them who would come up and sit in on drums (after Kieth Moon got taken out on a stretcher). Now they’re picky!? That ain’t rock ‘n roll!
