While wildlife strikes are relatively common at U.S. airports, more than 20,000 were reported last year, according to Federal Aviation Administration data, only four involved rabbits. One of those incidents occurred at DIA

37 years aircraft maintenance experience?
Then you know first hand how a plane can be effected.
A maintenance crew is expected to be dependable and able to work under stress, with everyone waiting and watching.

One little Bunny Rabbit could disable an entire, multi ton aircraft?

No kidding. On the second Die Hard movie, a big black guy went into a jet engine and it didn't miss a beat.

Was the rabbit armed?
How did it get inside the plane?

“able to work under stress, with everyone waiting and watching...”

Yeah, 17 years of that and was always a thrill a minute.

Then into the Quality department where I did the watching and inspecting other peoples work......that gig was absolutely THE most stressful job I ever had......and arguably the most hated department in all of aviation maintenance.

Was the rabbit armed?

Yes.

How did it get inside the plane?

With his Secret Service badge.

Did the airport ever find the confused old man being led by the rabbit?

And if you fly into rabbits
And you know you're going to fall
Tell the air-traffic controller
That you think the engine will stall

“the Quality department”

Once upon a time I had to have QA check my work to get those red X’s signed off. In he Army we called QA queer assholes. In the USAF we called QC queer cxxksuckers. I can imagine you’ve heard all that before.

FOD was taken quite serious. If a tool box inspection (which occurred each lunch break and end of the day) revealed a tool was missing, all work stopped and everyone looked for it.
