If you’re not married, no one else will notice.
Yes they will, unless you are hermit and live in a cave.
A 2019 study from America found that unmarried people had “significantly higher odds of developing dementia over the study period than their married counterparts”.
The people I’ve known developed the problem after a spouse died.
An agenda-driven “study” that seems only too happy to report that marriage makes you weak-minded.
How much did USAID pay for this study?
I think you may be the only poster here so far who actually read the article. The second paragraph does indeed contradict the headline.
The men in my family typically die before their wives do. Why? Because they want to.
More than one study.
That explains it.
How many couples in the study were married first cousins?
Not possible. ;-)
I personally doubt this, because it seems to me the more you have to learn to adjust to new situations they healthier your brain is. If this were true, than studying anything should cause dementia because you’re having to learn something new.
And an anecdotal sample size of 1 is so definitive.
I didn’t realize it at the time, but it was a.pre-existing condition with my ex.
I’ll attest to that…..what?
An optimist is a single dude looking forward to getting married.
pessimist is a married optimist. /J

The song’s lyrics have been the matter of debate, often interpreted as an attack on U.S. politics (especially the draft). Cummings, who composed the lyrics, said in 2013 that they had nothing to do with politics. “What was on my mind was that girls in the States seemed to get older quicker than our girls and that made them, well, dangerous. When I said ‘American woman, stay away from me,’ I really meant ‘Canadian woman, I prefer you.’ It was all a happy accident.”

A further reading gives evidence of a newer study than 2019, which forms the basis for headline premise. I may read slowly, but I don’t read far enough.
