Common sense. Stop being a glutton and get out and exercise.

I was a chubby kid then teen...then dropped most in the Corps, but after, at 6 ft tall, shot to 240 plus or minus lbs in my 40's before I found my (yeah, just my, I know) Holy Grail...Eat breakfast like a King, Lunch like a Prince, and dinner like a Pauper. At almost 63 years of age now I have spent the last two decades at 170ish with no effort, and eat what I want for a meal. If I get hungry at night, I can grab a snack, like a piece of chocolate, but I let the one piece satisfy me. 10 minutes ago I did a drive-by at the pantry and grabbed a fist full of crunchy granola, threw it back and walked away satisfied.

Okay...the other dirty magic bullet for me was when I stopped drinking beer, which was a huge deal in the 80's and 90s - beer was involved in every activity with others - golf, boating, fishing, weekend gathering at a friends, nights at the local watering hole with the guys. Then I switched to bourbon and, still to this day, enjoy a glass or two when the day is over.

Back when I did stop drinking beer, the weight actually came off fast and I had loose skin in areas - but the body adjusted over the next few years. The body is actually an amazing, miraculous, God-given machine if we give it the chance!
