Children exposed to fluoridated water in the first 10 years of life had a lower risk for tooth decay but a higher risk for several serious neurodevelopmental disorders, according to a peer-reviewed study published Wednesday in BMC Pediatrics.
Autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), intellectual disability and specific delays in development were all found at higher rates among children exposed to fluoride during their first decade of life.
“It appears from this study that the public health intervention of fluoridated water may have traded brain health for tooth health,” Children’s Health Defense Senior Research Scientist Karl Jablonowski said.

fluoridation was prevalent everywhere for decades before spike in autism, so actually i would be surprised - unless it interacts with a more recent phenomenon to cause it.
I bet children exposed to floride in the first 10 years of life have a strong correlation to living in urban environments.
I wonder if the study was adjusted for that, or, perhaps, was it adjusted for the percent of different races?
There’s a direct correlation between murders/shootings in Detroit and temperature. This is true in all northern cities. The conclusion, high temperatures cause murders.
On the other hand, nobody goes outside just cruising around when there’s a foot of show on the ground. There’s that...
It's so easy to blame all these condition on flouride. Yet when autism is a condition from birth and cannot be a result of flouride - then this throws these ideas out the window.
Seems to be a fairly well designed study. It takes quite a few co-variates into consideration, including race and urban environments.
About a 3% decrease in tooth decay associated with floridation, and small increases in Autism spectrum, ADHD and Intellectual Disability.
There appear to be much larger differences between racial groups, which is considered in the analysis.

Yep, this have been studied more than just about anything else, and I will lay dollars to donuts this study will not be able to be replicated.
Our private well had natural fluoride.
The mother has been ingesting fluoride for the entirety of gestation.
This is actually not a brand new finding:

I believe there can be multiple causes of autism but this could be one.
Any time you see the words "spectrum" or "dysfunction" connected to a disease, the lawsuits are stalking closely behind.
CDC claims 1 in 36 USA children have autism.
There are hundreds of locations in the USA that have natural fluoride in their water.
Seems like we should have noticed this alleged medical issue before 2025.

Not an easy study to do on smaller scales.
Probably not noticeable on a sample of less than 10,000.
Designed to distract from vaccines being the cause
Doesn't that apply to just about 75 percent of the US population? That's like saying there's a higher rate of cancer for those people who drank milk during their first ten years of life.
Millions of Boomers with less than vigorous immune systems are alive thanks to modern medicine.
About the time those Boomers with less than vigorous immune system began having children, strange conditions no one previously heard of began appearing began appearing among Boomer children.
You never know, that could be it. Survival of the not so fit.
I don’t doubt the oft-repeated claim that fluoride is good for your teeth. I brush with fluoride toothpaste and wait to spit it out. I don’t rinse.
What happens when you drink or cook with fluoridated water? It seems like it takes a long trip through the stomach and intestines before a small amount, if any, makes it to the teeth. Does some fluoride end up in your heart, liver, brain, etc? What is the point of showering or bathing in fluoridated water? Why wash your clothes in it? Should you use it to water your lawn? Flush the toilet?
Apparently we owe a deep, heartfelt apology to the John Birch Society.
They were right. About everything.
That is 0.0000007% fluoride.
The added (or natural) fluoride in drinking water becomes part of your tooth enamel.
Not just by bathing your teeth with fluoride, but also by entering the cells that nourish a healthy tooth.
Fluoride is an enzyme or adjuvant that enhances the production of new tooth enamel, which is how your teeth respond to normal wear and tear and prevent cavities.
