The Department of Government Efficiency, which is led by Elon Musk, arrived Friday at U.S. Peace Corps headquarters in Washington, D.C., suggesting it could be the latest target of the Trump administration's efforts to downsize the federal workforce.
The Peace Corps, which has an annual budget of more than $400 million, has long been popular with both Democrats and Republicans. There is a bipartisan Peace Corps caucus in Congress.

In other words, throw money at a program that is there for other countries to determine it’s worth and act accordingly to be behaving to the US dutifully. And that has never worked in the history of the world, with any country, anywhere that wasn’t militarally threatened at the least. Perfect example is the Ukraine.

I know a (white) woman who worked for the Peace Corps in Jamaica for several years. She acknowledged that she was often in very dangerous situations with no backup nearby. She had no serious incidents—but it easily could have gone another way for her.
I didn’t either, I have not heard anything about them in years.

The Peace Corps is a feeder system for USAID. A huge number of (former) USAID employees got their start in the PC.
The Peace Corps has always been a liberal nonsense organization focused on foreigners.
