Kathleen Turner looked frail as she made a rare public outing in NYC this week - months after her failing health caused her to drop out of a play.
The Body Heat and Romancing The Stone star, 70, looked shaky as she leaned on a walker after stepping away from the spotlight.
For the trip, Turner wore a long, dark overcoat, over a blue sweater, black pants, and black sneakers, as she made her way to an awaiting vehicle with the help of two people

Ned: Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.
Matty: This is a blouse and a skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.
Ned: You shouldn't wear that body.
She played a father?
She was a GREAT actress, back in the day. Not bad to look at either. She had a weight (fat) problem which hurt her career.
Yeah, I look just like I did when I was 20. (now 75). /s
I think you nailed it with that last line.
“”Father Time is a tough guy on all of us, but he is a lot tougher on some of us...””
It’s a stark reminder of the reality... that no matter how young, healthy and beautiful you once were... if you live long enough... you, too, will eventually be reduced to this level of “health” in varying degrees.
That definitely looks like steroid puffiness. My friend who had a liver transplant had a similar appearance.
Not really. She has been in ill health for a long time. When I saw a headline with her name in it, I figured she had passed.
Disease is a horrible thing.
“rheumatoid arthritis”
My FIL had that really bad. Hands and fingers all bent and snarled. What a horrific disease.
But he never once complained, never once said “Woe is me, this isn’t fair.” He was as cheerful as a person can be. He was a great inspiration.
I really didn’t recognize that virtue until after he passed and Father Tine started telling me I was starting to get up in years. I’m 73 and no real serious complaints...yet.
LOL...now that’s a GREAT line!
Ya, Chandlers dad was one of those...
Its steroids.
She has been fighting an auto immune disease for decades. The steroids keep her alive, but they bring on that “puffy” look. There isn’t much you can do about it.
I did see Bridget Fonda “before-and-after” pics a couple years ago. She was absolutely adorable. Then, from what I understand, she had had enough of the limelight and was over it.
LOL...I hear you.
Wasn’t thanksgiving yesterday? Wasn’t Christmas this morning? Wasn’t Valentines day just a few minutes ago? And April Fools’ Day...that feels like just a couple days ago already!
She’s been grossly overweight for years. That’s likely her number 1 problem. When you vet older being fat will really shorten your life span.
“She went downhill fast starting 30 years ago”
About 20 years ago she had a part as an attorney on Law And Order. She wasn’t looking great then.
Father Time ALWAYS WINS. Always.
