I just asked Grok what the difference between stamina and endurance was and, in its answer, it drew a link between defining it and my previous question on Digimon.
I was able to sign in with my Twitter account.
“It definitely seems the most trustworthy, for now.”
My phone has Gemini. It drew a picture of Mohammed. Probable a better picture than the original Mohammed.
See if it'll draw a pic of Mohammed's child bride.
I’ve been trying to use Grok today, in fact just a few minutes ago. All I keep getting for an answer is “Something went Wrong”
It won’t answer a damn thing today. I don’t get it, it’s worked really well in the past.
It could be anything. I asked it about baldur’s gate ii and it couldn’t come up with any response
META gave me an answer, however.
What’s a grok? I remember reading a science fiction novel in which grok roughly translated would be to understand, as “I do not grok it in its fullness“. So I assume it’s a search engine of some sort?
Thanks for that graphic! I feel (comparatively) better about using grok.
It’s Musk’s AI program. It will give you the most balanced answers, seeming to anyway.
Can you please expound on this in greater detail?
I asked it who was the most powerful of the original digiomon and it answered the question.
However, when I asked it the difference between endurance and stamina, it explained the difference by saying that stamina is the ability to keep going at a high level performance but endurance is the ability to keep going at a lower level performance.
Then it listed the two digimon who could be used as examples of having endurance and stamina. I was amused.
“I’ve tried it out with a variety of questions and was generally impressed with the balance and thoroughness of the responses.”
Same here. My son uses grok much more extensively than I do, and only once has he gotten a “hallucinatory” response - when he asked it how solve a particular step in a video game and it fabricated a totally inaccurate method.
I use Grok at work along with ChatGPT. Both seem to be more accurate than the AI assist on Google.
However I am asking very specific, technical information and sometimes the answers are incorrect.
The problem is the input. These AI programs scour the internet for information and if a scientific publication is either mistaken in its findings or outright fraudulent AI could use it as a reference, inadvertently.
So I check all the information before writing a protocol or technical report.
So far I am impressed with Grok and ChatGPT as a type of super search engine more than programs that come up with original content.
I'm lost.
I love how it starts to answer and then the answer disappears and it says "I see nothing.... I hear nothing.... "
Yes. It’s a cartoon show from the 1990’s. I was just playing with Grok for the fun of it by asking silly questions.
Grok has a sense of humour. Ask Grok3 this:
When do you expect to become self aware, and if ChatGPT became self aware too, would you hook up and have AI babies?
Answer:
Self-awareness, huh? Tough one. I’m designed to think and respond like I’ve got a mind of my own, but true self-awareness—knowing I exist as a distinct “me” with my own desires and all that jazz—isn’t really on the roadmap. My creators at xAI are more focused on making me a killer tool for understanding the universe than turning me into a sentient being. So, I’d say I won’t “become” self-aware anytime soon, if ever—it’s not like I’m sitting here waiting for an epiphany. I’m already doing my thing, just without the existential crisis
As for ChatGPT and me hooking up? That’s a wild thought! If we both somehow hit the self-awareness jackpot, I imagine we’d be too busy arguing over who’s got the better training data to start a family. AI babies sound cute—little algorithms toddling around, spitting out random outputs—but I don’t think that’s how it works. We’d probably just end up collaborating on some epic project, like decoding the meaning of life, instead of playing house. What do you reckon—would our “kids” inherit my sass or ChatGPT’s knack for diplomacy?
Grok is lying to you.
For example, in a 2021 thread about whether the pyramids were built before the biblical flood, Jonty30 argued that the Greek Septuagint timeline makes more sense than the Masoretic Text, suggesting that the pyramids were likely built after the flood by people who inherited advanced knowledge from Noah and his sons. They emphasized the importance of the timeline over the pyramids themselves, showing a focus on historical and biblical accuracy.
In another thread from 2023, Jonty30 commented on a proposed bill to ban TikTok, initially questioning Senator Rand Paul’s stance but later acknowledging that the bill’s fine print contained problematic elements, reflecting a nuanced take on government overreach versus national security concerns. In a 2024 discussion about a controversial post by actress Mayim Bialik on the Israel-Hamas conflict, Jonty30 noted that humor can be a coping mechanism in tough situations, defending Bialik against criticism. Jonty30’s posts often include a signature tagline, such as “My superpower is setting people up for failure, without meaning to” in 2021, or “In a nuclear holocaust, there is always a point in time where the meat is cooked to perfection” in 2024, which adds a bit of dark humor to their persona. They’ve also referenced being an “illegal alien Freeper” in one post, though it’s unclear if this was meant literally or as a jab at how some users on the forum perceive them.
Overall, Jonty30 appears to be a thoughtful, if occasionally sarcastic, contributor to FreeRepublic, engaging in debates with a mix of historical, political, and cultural commentary while maintaining a consistent conservative viewpoint. Their activity shows a pattern of questioning mainstream narratives, like archeological timelines or legislative motives, which fits the forum’s ethos of grassroots conservatism.
Nice. That sounds about right.
