Columbia University faces new trouble as top admissions consultant says students won’t accept offers — ‘brand has been tarnished’

College acceptance letters are rolling in — and, suddenly, some applicants don’t even want to hear from Columbia.

An admissions consultant who helped 10 clients get accepted to the Ivy League school’s Class of ’29 told The Post that not a single one plans to attend.

“This would not have been the case three years ago,” Christopher Rim said. “The actual brand has been tarnished.”

As for September’s incoming freshman class, Rim said: “I think it’s going to be the students who didn’t get in anywhere else.”

This comes as the school has mishandled pro-Palestinian protests and the Trump administration has threatened to pull some $400 million in federal grants.

On Friday, interim university president Katrina Armstrong resigned her post amid allegations that she had told the federal government she would implement a mask ban for campus protests — but privately promised faculty it would not happen.

“There’s so much up-and-down craziness, and Columbia doesn’t seem stable at all,” said Rim, who is the CEO of Command Education.

Instead, he explained, his clients who were accepted to Columbia during this year’s regular admissions cycle are headed to schools like NYU and Duke.

‘And when their identities finally get exposed, they will be unemployable anywhere’

And they’ll have only themselves to blame.

Columbia can and probably will fill it’s incoming class with mostly foreign Islamist students or their sympathizers.

I simply can’t imagine even wanting to go to an Ivy League school. One sister graduated from Duke in the mid 80s...hell no would I go there. Another sister graduated from Wash U in St. Louis and my niece and nephew went there. My nephew said he had a small cadre of friends and pretty much everybody else was a raving Leftist lunatic. My niece transferred out to UNC after her first year the place was such a nuthouse...and she even leans left.

UF was the only school I even applied to. 35 years later if I had it to do all over again, I’d still pick UF or a good state school like UVA, UNC, Tx, etc etc over a Leftist indoctrination center in a deep blue shithole.

Some top students who got into other Ivy League schools might pass on Columbia. But Columbia will have no trouble filling their seats.

Where does a degree from an Ivy League school really help you? Not in most of corporate America. I've seen it. It does count for more up in the Northeast....but who in their right mind wants to actually live in NYC or Boston or some deep blue shithole like that? Certainly not me. Not in a million years. You get paid more? OK...now adjust for the cost of living differential with the rest of non Left Coast America. Now you really don't get paid much more when you factor that in....and you're stuck living there. Gross.

They’ll just take even more foreigners, making the problem worse.

Lots of people.

You're not being objective. You're projecting your own tastes onto everyone.

I live in blue Los Angeles. I visited Idaho, thought of moving there. It's nice. But I prefer living in L.A. Lived here too long to change now.

And I've friends and family -- Trump voters -- who've lived their whole lives in NYC, and continue to live there.

Lots of people.

Lots of Leftists. FIFY

You're not being objective. You're projecting your own tastes onto everyone.

I'm projecting the tastes of most Americans. There's a reason those states have been losing population and the red states have been gaining - that is particularly so if you exclude foreigners. ie more actual Americans want out of those places and have been voting with their feet.

I live in blue Los Angeles. I visited Idaho, thought of moving there. It's nice. But I prefer living in L.A. Lived here too long to change now. And I've friends and family -- Trump voters -- who've lived their whole lives in NYC, and continue to live there.

And I've lived in San Diego and NYC and Minneapolis. Never again. All have gone downhill in the last 20 years and the problems they all have were quite evident to me as far back as the 90s.....ie less opportunity, ridiculously high costs, ridiculously high taxes, very oppressive vis a vis gun rights, completely insane Leftist courts, massive corruption at all levels of government, etc.

I've also lived in Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Arizona and North Carolina so I have a basis for comparison. I'd pick any Southern state over those places any day.

Never made any sense to pay an outrageous sum for 4 years to become dumber with a totally useless degree.

“This is kinda b-lls—t.”

Students not accepting offers at Columbia has probably happened.

Worse for Columbia is the rumors that it is happening in a big way. Once the fad of attending there is questioned, it can snowball. There are lots of other snob schools.

“I visited Idaho, thought of moving there. It’s nice. But I prefer living in L.A. Lived here too long to change now.”

We bought a second home in North Idaho eight years ago. I thought we were buying a summer vacation home. When COVID hit, my wife’s school district office shut down and Gruesome was threatening to shut down ALL freeway traffic. That was the absolute last straw for my wife. She said there was no way that bastard was goi g to lock her up in CA. On March 21, 2020 she grabbed the dog and skedaddled to Idaho. She loves it far more than the crazy, congested San Francisco Peninsula. Me? I like wintering in the Bay Area. It’s still wet, cold and overcast, but 12-18 degrees warmer than Idaho. I’ve been her in CA over 50 years and it’s hard to leave.

“The leftist commie school isn’t smart enough to figure it out? Devastating news.”

Pull Columbia’s accreditation.
