I doubt it, because I think he knows that he would not win. Because within Ukraine I do not think the polls are in his favor. If they are it may be a calculated attempt to get him to run in order to remove him.
But I knew that this was not going to be an easy sell for Trump, on either side of the field, because too much has been expended on the battlefield by both sides.
Walk away Trump. Let Europe take over.

Nobody in Ukraine wants to hold presidential elections.
Even Zelensky's number one opponent, Poroshenko is against holding wartime elections.
Simple answer is that during wartime elections, Zelensky will probably win another 5 year term as people generally "rally around the flag" during wartime. Opponents want the elections after the war, feeling they have a better chance of wining. Good example of a similar situation is Winston Churchill, who lost elections after the war.
