DEI is like crabgrass infecting a lawn. Once established its almost impossible to eradicate and the lawn is eventually ruined. If any pilot can’t pass a revaluation, then ground and fire them.

I’d like to agree, but isn’t this exaggerated? Takeoffs and landings would seem to be far more challenging than the level flight that makes up a majority of an eight-hour flight. Surely, with any training at all, less experienced pilots can handle level flight.

Don’t dismiss Air France 447 either. Captain was on “break” when the two newbies couldn’t keep the A330 aloft and stalled the plane into the Atlantic.
Perhaps not DEI, but certainly not the caliber of pilot I want in charge when flying my loved ones.

The worry here isn't so much about ability but stability. With no one in the cockpit to interfere with some freak it can be hell in a hand basket quick.

Nothing to worry about, when I learned to fly many years ago they taught us the plane would land no matter what happens once it takes off...
