I cannot think of any way a rocket launch would cause that. All these years launching rockets, suddenly, they look different. Which fuel/oxidizer combination would cause that, and why the double spiral? Burns in space diffuse rather quickly.
Somebody needs to offer a "how" explanation.

Oh, I suppose I should add that the offered explanation bothers me because I don't think the spiral was located where the booster descended. Maybe it had to be viewed from a particular angle to see the glint from the sun.

Looks like the nav system had an issue. I’d be surprised if G-force didn’t tear the rocket apart. I wonder if they’re using the old mechanical gyros or the newer (still 35 years old) fiber optic gyros(?)
