Dozens of ads depict whites in a demeaning manner and blacks as their superiors in intelligence and ability.
In an advertisement currently running on TV, a young white male kneels on his front lawn, trimming the grass one blade at a time with a nail clipper. Next door, a slightly older black male sits comfortably on his porch, scanning his automated payroll accounts with an air of confidence and superiority as he looks askance at his foolish neighbor.
In another ad, a large, middle-aged black woman dances and sings her way through the supermarket aisles, waited upon entirely by whites. At one point she stands still, looking doubtfully at a middle-aged white male who has taken a break from mopping the floors. In the end, she breezes out of the store, her cart filled by whites employees overjoyed to serve her.
In yet another ad, two young girls are selling something like Girl Scout cookies — one using a payment app and another relying on cash. The black girl, who uses the app, has sold her entire wagonload of goods before the other has sold much of anything. At the end, the black girl wheels her wagon off with a baseball glove and ball inside (indicating she is headed out to play), looking back with a knowing smile at her less clued-in white neighbor.
These are just a few of the dozens of ads now airing that depict whites in a demeaning manner and blacks as their superiors in intelligence and ability.
“Racial superiority” was once regarded as immoral if not criminal, but now it is out in the open, with blacks consistently depicted as more capable than whites. Nearly every medical doctor in the media is depicted as a black male, a throwback to Dr. Huxtable

Blacks really need to get in touch with their inner-selves;)
What you said is correct.
Almost never-ever will you see a Coal black person in a commercial; TV loves that Bronzed Watered Down Black Girl look. I noticed back in the 70s that the majority of black women protrayed are a Muloto (more bronze than black but definitely high white content with golden hair). Black for intents and purposes of advertising and attractive enough for men to want to see. Every race is watered down historically, but in the USA the black community is 98.2% likely blood from another race since their arrival in America.
“If seeing people like themselves depicted as smart, successful, wealthy, etc., inspires black people and lifts them up, that’s good, and I think we’ll all survive.”
Our local bank ads show black families—dad, mom, child or children.
The problem is that I have not seen a black family like that in our area in years.
Not one!
We are more likely to see a moose walk through the center of town.
You probably remember those chocolate covered marshmallow candy bars, called Black Babies (actually I think it was much worse and it was called N****** Babies) from the early 60s. I saw them in Elder Berman’s stores in Dayton Ohio growing up. They had a sterotypical picture of a little black girl and boy with big white eyes bugging out of their heads in what can only today be described as KKK comedy wrappers. I was probably in first or second grade and I knew this was SOOO WRONG but laughed like crazy at them. My mom was not amused and told me to cut it out. But like a fart in an evalator a kids’ gotta laugh. Those candy bars did not survive 1964.
Now that’s reality TV;)
This is exactly why I pay for the “ad-free” version of the few streaming services we watch.
The commercials have become insufferable, demeaning and insulting towards White People.
YES. The entire American advertizing industry has gone full blown DEI in every ad.
I finally talked my family in to cutting the cable service a few months ago - and haven’t looked back, never will.
We were paying for channels we never, ever watch such as BET, sports channels, network TV and channels in a myriad of foreign languages, also which we’d never watch. I convinced them what a waste of money it all is - turns out that waste of money was $145/month.
Now, we subscribe - ad free - to services of programs we do watch, which is very little.
Walmart has the same sized packages of the same cookies for less than 1-2 bucks everyday near the bottom shelves if you want GS cookies;)
The mixed race couples ads are pretty much the norm. Not sure if that is an accurate reflection of society.
Maybe home paternity tests?
Regards,
Most insurance ads are so offensive that they make me determined never to buy from them. Liberty doesn't own the Statue of Liberty. I always switch channels if a Progressive Insurance ad comes on.
The Girl Scouts sometimes set up just outside a store to guilt trip people into buying some cookies. I never buy any—I’m tempted to say that the reason is their support for abortion.
“Carnival does. They are the buffet fight referees ;-)”
carnival cruises are essentially for poor alcoholics ...
to paraphrase a chris rock joke: “There two kinds of cruises: cruises that white folks go on, and cruises that white folks use to go on.”
That does not jibe with my personal experience.
In the early 80s, I saw nary a Black actor in t.v. ads. The only Black actor / entertainer I saw was Roberto Blanco.
But at least since the late 1990s, there have been more and more (chiefly) Blacks in German t.v. commercials. Can't really speak about the current situation insofar as I haven't watched regularly for about 15 years. Occasionally, I'll accidentally catch a commercial for some product marketed by a global conglomerate, with predominantly Black actors or esp. mixed-race families - but then I'll assume that the ad was produced in Great Britain or the U.S. (the dubbing is quite obvious).
In the case of the use of chiefly Black actors specifically in U.S. commercials - that might constitute a skewing of 200-300% (i.e., 2 to 3 times greater representation than their true presence in the general population). I could live with that.
But the commercials with blatantly mixed-race couples?! That constitutes a gross misrepresentation, with them appearing maybe a THOUSAND times more frequently in t.v. ads than in real life.
My wife receives lots of fashion catalogs in the mail - from German apparel companies (i.e., not multinational or U.S. companies), and roughly three-quarters of the models are Black.
That might have some arcane physiological / psychological explanation. (Maybe light-colored fabrics typical of summer wear look "better" against dark complexions.) The (female) models also have a certain Ethiopian look to them - maybe Ethiopian women have an almost unnaturally slim body structure that makes them better "clothes horses."

Hi.
Imo, blacks are overly represented in advertising these days. Same with mixed couples. For example, there are too many black women that are married to white men. The opposite is true regarding black men and white women.
How many couples do you know that a white man married a black woman?
I don’t count.
5.56mm
It’s not even remotely accurate
the mantra in sales psychology used to be that the salesman should always look and act as much as possible like the potential client ...
i once worked for a company long ago that purchased some expensive IBM gear, but the technical sales representatives assigned to us were for the most part lazy bozos, with one exception being an outstanding black rep: personable, helpful, diligent and very knowledgeable ... i begged him to be our primary rep, but he confidentially told me that wasn’t possible because IBM’s policy was essentially that black guys could rep only black-dominated businesses and white guys could rep only white-dominated businesses ...
It is sad that IBM had a policy like that, but It does not surprise me.
There is a difference between counting and noticing.
Counting is kinda dumb for sure.
Noticing is what every human should do—about everything.
That is necessary so the “experts” don’t scam you.
When something annoys you, ignore it. The queer “PREP” AIDS medications are a real annoyance to me, so I either tune out or click the channel.
