Time for the Trump Administration to do a version of the "Fireside Chats"
Self

Posted on 03/26/2025 10:27:37 AM PDT by dmzTahoe

I asked ChatGPT the following question and was pleasantly surprised with this answer. I think this would be a wonderful idea. Especially if such chats with the public was made on a Sunday evening on television head to head against 60 minutes. It would give people a lot to talk about Monday morning at work.

"Make the case for President Trump to give a version of the fireside chats in order to explain to the American people progress of his administration and the findings of Doge for the benefit of the American public".

ChatGPT Response

A modern version of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Fireside Chats could be a powerful tool for President Trump to communicate directly with the American people. Here’s why he should consider doing it:

1. Direct Communication with the Public Mainstream media often filters or spins information. A direct, conversational address—whether via social media, live-streamed video, or traditional broadcasts—would allow President Trump to bypass the media and speak straight to Americans in his own words.

2. Updating Americans on Administration Progress There is often confusion or misinformation about government initiatives. Regular “fireside” updates could highlight policy successes, economic growth, national security developments, and other key accomplishments in an accessible way.

3. Transparency on Investigations like “Doge” If “Doge” refers to a significant investigation or issue (perhaps related to a political probe, economic policy, or digital currency like Dogecoin), explaining its findings in plain language could help Americans understand its implications. If the administration has been vindicated, this would be an opportunity to reinforce that message. If new reforms are needed, it builds trust by addressing them head-on.

4. Reassuring and Uniting the Public Americans feel divided and often uncertain about the country’s future. A calm, direct, and optimistic approach—similar to FDR’s during the Great Depression and WWII—could help reassure people, especially if the nation is facing economic, legal, or security challenges.

5. Harnessing Modern Technology for Maximum Impact Unlike the radio era of FDR, today’s version could be a mix of video addresses, live Q&A sessions, and direct messaging through platforms like Truth Social, Twitter, and YouTube. This would allow engagement with a broader audience, including younger voters.

Except in Calif for one, they outlawed the fireplace in the living room.

“The Bonfire Chats”?

Agreed. I’ve been saying that here for a few weeks. He needs direct-to-the-people chats to show progress, why he is pursuing corruption, why he is deporting illegals, why he is doing the work he was elected to do, and why it benefits all citizens.

This would force the Democrats the publicly defend their crazy policies. It would be an eye opener for many Americans

Didn’t Jimmy Carter try this with a fire going on in a fireplace behind him?

Did you know there is no definitive evidence that Franklin D. Roosevelt’s fireside chats were delivered next to an actual fireplace. The term "fireside chat" was coined by CBS reporter Harry Butcher in 1933 to evoke a cozy, intimate image, suggesting FDR was speaking directly to Americans in their homes. Roosevelt delivered these radio addresses from various locations, primarily the White House Diplomatic Reception Room, which does have a fireplace. However, historical accounts and photos—like those from his first chat on March 12, 1933—show him seated at a desk covered with microphones, not visibly by a fire. The room’s fireplace was likely more decorative than functional during broadcasts, and no records confirm a fire was lit.

The "fireside" bit was marketing genius, not a literal setup.

No

If you haven't noticed no one is interested in having a discussion or the free and open exchange of ideas.

He could have cabinet heads and other government officials making the case as well. This would give great exposure to the administration members, add to credibility and give them momentum for the future

Does Chat GDP still think its the best choice to wipe out humanity with a thermo-nuclear strike then to risk someone being misgendered?

I think the fireside angle was meant more for American public sitting at home in front of the fireplace listening to the radio. That would make more sense than FDR sitting by a fireplace

That’s the thing about chatgpt. If you keep probing with questions you can direct it eventually to the answer you want to receive. It’s like a young kid with a lot of energy that you have to keep directing in the direction you wish.

I actually got chat GPT to apologize for some things it said and correct its course.

Would also be a great opportunity to make the case of the roadblock he’s being forced to deal with... radical forces and political opponents, much to the detriment of his agenda meant to help the American people and make America great again

I think Joe Rogan/ Sean Ryan style podcasts with the President or high level administration members would be a great idea.

Yeah...i notice that with more then a few Chat AI products.

Grok will sometimes concede, and I got that Chinese one to do it as well.

I like your analogy of these things being like a young kid with alot of energy.

They will make declarative statements with all the certainty in the world.....and then through questioning...you can make them see that they are wrong.

I was asking Grok something the other day about if Snow White live action was flop....and it said that it couldn’t answer because Snow White was not going to be released until
21 March.

It was March 23nd when I asked the question.

So I then pointed out the date was actually 23 March, from which it corrected itself and said that Snow White was infact looking poor in the box office.
