Nice pup. I was out with friends at the J Street marina in the late 70s. One of the regular attendees showed up with his Great Dane. 250 lbs of pup. The dog had his own room at home and rode in the back of the pickup truck between home and the marina. At some point he acquired a saddle and his son rode up and down the beach on the dog.
My Tyras was a rescue.
Actually all my dogs are and had been rescues.
Tyras was two years old when I adopted him.
He went through 5 foster homes and nobody wanted to adopt him, because he is deaf. That didn't bother me and it didn't bother the dog. LOL
Because of his deafness, I bought him a vibrating collar. If he has his back turned to me and can't hear me, I give him a very gentle vibration to get his attention. Besides that, he is just like any other dog.
He is a very loving, loyal dog. I can't say enough good things about him.
He's also a big goof ball, always ready for a bit of trouble making. Like stealing a couple of bananas from the kitchen counter and hiding them under my bed. π
