My Tyras was a rescue.
Actually all my dogs are and had been rescues.
Tyras was two years old when I adopted him.
He went through 5 foster homes and nobody wanted to adopt him, because he is deaf. That didn't bother me and it didn't bother the dog. LOL
Because of his deafness, I bought him a vibrating collar. If he has his back turned to me and can't hear me, I give him a very gentle vibration to get his attention. Besides that, he is just like any other dog.
He is a very loving, loyal dog. I can't say enough good things about him.
He's also a big goof ball, always ready for a bit of trouble making. Like stealing a couple of bananas from the kitchen counter and hiding them under my bed. πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜†

I got my first from a “soldier of fortune” who had the mother. All the pups had generalized demodectic mange, came to find out. We were the last to get to the specialized vet in the area and he said they’d been waiting for us to show up. Poor babe lost all his fur and the walls were covered with blood spots from blood dripping off his wildly wagging tail. Used to scrub him down with a tuffy in the tub and take him to bed wrapped in a huge bath towel to keep him warm. Did get him cured. Great dog. The ones with problems dig into our hearts the deepest. Good for you and give yours a pet for us.
