My dad had a Russian Wolfhound when he was a teen. I suspect that is why is had no concerns about the Wolf/Collie cross we picked up in Washington state. He was free to roam the neighborhood in Federal Way. Not so when we returned to San Diego or Virginia. It took the same chain that the San Diego Zoo used around the elephants feet to keep him tied out in the yard. We tried the lesser twisted wire chains. He pulled them apart like cheap yarn.

I don’t think a Wolfhound has any similarity to a Wolfdog.
