“but your principled politician doesn’t give a rip about anything other than his power trip.”

But that is not true. That is not an honest view of the bigger picture. Massie and Rand Paul have never wavered on this principle and have always been consistent.

They stand on this principle even if they end up taking a hit themselves with their own representative state. They are willing to make their own sacrifices to stand on consistent message.

Funny how when Biden was in office Massie and Paul were praised for this stance against Democrat spending. But now that Trump is in they are being thrown under the bus for this same consistent stance.

It is selective dishonest hypocrisy.

Honestly, and thank you for you kind and thought filled response. I do trust Rand Paul. Probably the single politician in DC worth trusting.

I think we strongly disagree on Massie. I do NOT trust him. Period. I think he is a power hungry swamp politician.

I think where we can find common ground is both of us want to right this ship and stabilize it. That will involve a lot. A lot of pain. I hate that but it is a fact and will happen. I worry for my DIL who is VA employee with a brand new mortgage on their dream home. I don’t think Massie gives two rips about her or my son. I think he is absorbed in his own power plays. That I guess is where we part common ground.

I hear your selective dishonesty argument and do give it some credence. Please know that. But as a Floridian I didn’t know Massive existed till he started his current so called principaled stance. I just find it highly suspicious.

I wish you the best and thank you for a great discussion.

Massie and Rand Paul have never wavered on this principle and have always been consistent.

In Massie's case, this is absolutely false. As the deciding vote on the measure in the House Rules Committee, in the spring of 2023, he was in a position to unilaterally block the Biden-McCarthy deal to suspend the debt ceiling through 2024.

This is a guy who has made a career out of sanctimoniously whining about fiscal irresponsibility, and to make his point he literally walks around with a stupid clock that tracks the federal debt. But when he was in a position to actually do something about it, he had all the fortitude of a wet noodle and voted to basically give Joe Biden a blank check for 18 months.

"Never wavered," my @ss.

What have they accomplished with their consistency?
Perhaps thinking outside the box with the end goal in mind would have served them, their constituents & the USA much better.
