I was lucky enough to see Albert King in a bar in Lincoln, Nebraska called the Zoo Bar. SRV got me into blues and I really was in it hard for a number of years. The Zoo pulled in all of the touring blues acts and me and my buddies used to go all the time. Saw Buddy Guy and Robert Cray there right before “Strong Persuader” came out. Matt “Guitar” Murphy used to play there with his band all the time. He autographed my vinyl copy of “Briefcase Full of Blues” and talked to me and my buddies for a little bit. Albert Collins used to play there all the time and he was amazing. Also saw Johnny Johnson who played on all of the old Chuck Berry records as well. This was in the mid 80’s when all those guys were still alive. Also saw Pinetop Perkins and Charlie Musselwhite there as well. Was fortunate to go to school at Nebraska and have that place a 10 minute stumble home to my dorm room. BB King came and sat in there one night when he was playing in town but I missed that.
Remembered one more. Saw REM on the Lifes Rich Pageant tour in ‘86. Didn’t like them at the time and was forced by my girlfriend at the time but I am sure glad I went.

Lincoln Nebraska. Amazing
Weird Al Yankovic is one of the best concerts I’ve ever gone to.
Saw The Smithereens, Tom Cochrane of Red Ryder opened for them, did a great version of “Lunatic Fringe”.
My first concert was to see Marshall Tucker back in HS with a friend of my brother. Never listened to MT again willingly.
Fortunately, as a freshman in college, my boyfriend took me to see Eric Clapton. We were married 6 years later.
Our second concert together was Dire Straits, soon after we married. Became parents shortly after that.
After many years, we saw Elton John, Jimmy Buffett, and Paul Simon.
Saw a number of small local bands hoping to make it to the big stage.
About ten years ago, we started going to bigger live shows again.
