As measles cases continue to emerge in several U.S. states, treatment and prevention are top of mind. As most infected individuals have been unvaccinated, school-aged children, U.S. health agencies have stressed the importance of receiving two doses of the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine to prevent the disease.
In a recent Fox News Digital op-ed, HHS secretary RFK Jr. shared his “deep concern” about the measles outbreak and its rapid escalation. RFK Jr. noted that while there is no approved antiviral for measles, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a statement last week supporting the administration of vitamin A under physician supervision as supportive care. Previous research published in the International Journal of Epidemiology has shown that vitamin A, in conjunction with the measles vaccine, can be an effective intervention in preventing measles mortality in children.
RFK Jr. reiterated the importance of maintaining good nutrition and consuming various vitamins — like A, B12, C, D and E — as the “best defense against” chronic and infectious illness. Kennedy Jr. arrives before President Donald Trump addresses a joint session of Congress at the Capitol in Washington, Tuesday, March 4, 2025.In a recent op-ed, HHS secretary RFK Jr. shared his “deep concern” about the measles outbreak and its rapid escalation.

Experts: "Safe and effective"

You do realize that ‘Big Vitamins’ have many wrapped around their fingers making millions from supplements and kickbacks.

Does Vitamin A prevent measles?
The claim:
Our burgeoning measles outbreaks have spread the old rumor that Vitamin A prevents measles and that sanitation and nutrition are responsible for bringing down measles deaths before we had a vaccine to prevent it.
The facts:
While measles deaths can be prevented with better access to medical care and nutrition, two doses of MMR vaccine can prevent around 98% of measles cases. Before the measles vaccine in 1964, nearly all children got measles before the age of 15. And even then, 500-600 children died annually.
While sanitation is an important part of public health, it has very little impact on measles, a respiratory virus so contagious that it can remain airborne for up to 2 hours after an infected person leaves the area and infect 9 out of 10 susceptible people.
Vitamin A plays an important role in the immune system, but its levels can drop during an infection, making it harder for the body to absorb and use. If someone has measles, a doctor may prescribe Vitamin A to help stabilize these levels. However, taking too much Vitamin A when it’s not needed won’t provide any benefits and can actually be dangerous.

Yes, RFK, jr. is going to have one helluva time trying to bring truth to demonic big Pharma and to other fools who are too dumb to think for themselves. It’s going to be exciting to watch a revolutionary do his magic. He is like a man on a Devine high energy driven mission to save humanity.
Agreed, except for mRNA (alleged) vaccines, for which the overall risks are greater than any overall benefit (especially across the age spectrum.)
RFK's expertise is in econ and law. For someone to make vaccine recommendations at the HHR level, that person should have the benefit of knowing the intimate biological and chemical interactions involved in immunology as well as a deep and thorough understanding of epidemiology. Lots of math, chemistry, physiology, biology, and publications just to be able to interpret the constantly growing scientific literature and to be able to separate the facts from the frauds and the scientifically valid from the enduring myths.

We hear from med hucksters about a link between vaccines and autism, yet the superior scientific reviews are thorough and typically in agreement. Please consider the following, and please further do some online searching on the topic for research from respected organizations...

Don't agree? Fine. Let 'er rip. I'm a big boy.
I guess I'm not qualified to disagree.
Once you are exposed to measles, no vaccine is going to help you.
Vitamin A has been used to treat measles for ages. It’s not optimum-the vaccine is—but its better than nothing.
The measles vaccine is not an mRNA vaccine. It’s been around for 60 years.
It was effective enough to eradicate measles in the US.
LOL yeah, that’s pretty much the sum and substance of the interlocution!
Wait. You have to see a doctor to use vitamin A? But the AMA sez that vitamins are next to worthless and all maladies have to be treated with drugs. So confusing.
But it doesn’t work unless 100% of the population takes it?
My Mother had 7 children, she was one of 8 children. All but 1 of her siblings lived close, and the measles cycled through our family. Nobody died, nobody had adverse effects. There were 34 first cousins in our play group. We all had a smallpox and polio vaccine, and assorted tetanus treatments.

Measles vaccine is effective. After 1963 when everyone used to get it vaccination made it practically non-existent. A number of kids weren’t vaccinated more recently because it wasn’t a threat. Illegal immigration brought it back in to the US and kids who aren’t vaccinated are at risk of getting it.
Actually it’s about 70% to stop a “breakout.” The virus needs to be able to jump from host to host to survive.
The measles virus is VERY different from a coronavirus. It really doesn’t mutate all that much so the vaccine is quite effective.
I know the article is a lie because it is the MSM writing about RFKjr. Proper nutrition has a lot to do with the body’s ability to build up the immune system making resistance and recovery from disease easier. This is not an substitute for vaccination.
It is a basic truth that the healthier you are the less likely a disease is going to be catastrophic. People used to know this along with the benefits of fresh air, sunshine, basic sanitation, and enough sleep.
I believe the depletion of minerals found in soil is at least in part responsible for the rise in chronic illnesses.
“RFK Jr. noted that while there is no approved antiviral for measles, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a statement last week supporting the administration of vitamin A under physician supervision as supportive care.”
I must have missed where he told people to use Vitamin A as a substitute for the vaccine. Supportive care means just that. It is used to support other care given to prevent measles. That would be the vaccine. It also refers to care given to those who have contracted the measles to aid in their recovery.
A vaccine in the traditional sense, works by injecting a weakened form of the virus. The immune system responds by creating antibodies. The ability to create the antibody is remembered by the immune system for use when a wild virus attacks.
The mRNA (Covid) “Vaccine” works on a different principle. It stimulates the production of the spike proteins which are exhibited on the surface of a corona virus. The Corona virus uses these spikes to enter the cell by binding to an ACE2 receptor which are common to many cell types in the body. Ace2 is important in controlling blood pressure. The mRNA and the spikes produced do not always remain in the site where they are injected and can concentrate in the heart, kidneys, intestines’, testes, and kidneys.
So several points, mRNA should be labeled for what it is, genetic modification and not a vaccine. Two, There is a link between vaccines and autism but it is not the active component of the vaccine which causes the problem but rather the preservatives incorporated in the vaccine vial.
The profit margin on Vaccines and mRNA are huge so Big Pharma is going to promote their use, ethics be damned.
The big picture is that more research is needed to create safer vaccines, and mRNA treatments.
Yep. Though if you were vaccinated before a certain year (I think sometime in the late 60’s) it is likely the immunity has worn off and you will be required to get a booster in certain instances. For example going back to school or for some jobs.
