This tree does not appear in this video. I wuz robbed. But video is still very gripping and educational. First time I went out for firewood was with 4 other guys. The falling tree splintered in half upwards, and missed me by 5 feet. I learning from you tube... always quick step far away from a falling tree you cut down
Egad-there is NOTHING about ANY of that which seemed even remotely safe, even for the men who appeared to know what they were doing.
It seems like if you do it long enough, you will get bitten in some way, even to death.
I take my hat off to them.
Elon needs this!
Very satisfying to see these hardy men at work, and the machinery developed to do fantastically difficult jobs!
Ah, the day you look at your husband and think, “I married an idiot.” I should have known- unrepentant registered Democrat. Live and learn. So happily married for just shy of 28 years to a guy competent enough to fly a few different jets and safely use a saw.
My eight year-old nephew doesn’t play video games. He watches YouTube videos of machinery and tractors. I’ll send him this one.
If someone told him - instead of going to your local public school, you could go into the woods to work with these guys cutting trees and grinding stumps, he would be the happiest kid in the world.
Machines cut the trees off just above the ground, with more machines stripping the limbs and bark and chewing them up to small bits that were spewed out. The stumps were even pulled up mechanically. Finally, more machines ground the stacks of naked pine tree trunks and stumps into small chunks of wood that were trucked off to be made into newsprint and cardboard boxes.
The entire process was astonishing for its speed and efficiency -- disrupted only by afternoon thunder storms and a massive nest of yellow jackets who objected until they were burned out.
bkmk
That sounds great! I'm happy for the return of masculinity in the U.S. Soyboys and dweebs need not apply.
For me the best one was the tree that twisted as it was cut. Definitely brought back memories. Run like hell. Buying a new chainsaw is way less expensive and painful that going to the hospital.
There are good videos of feller/bunchers and log skidders.
It is impressive to watch these operators get the job done.
More power!
Did Tim Taylor ever modify a chainsaw?
I saw most of Tool time episodes.
AI created thumbnail pictures are rampant on youtube.
Clickbait.
I watch plenty of videos but I complain about this practice…nobody cares.
Right now my posting privileges are suspended until tonight when I can comment again until it happens again.
Shadow banning is also rampant.
I am unhealthily addicted to youtube.
Just like the folks who climb radio towers to change light bulbs. (Anyone ever consider inventing a self-changing bulb?)
I wonder if that one guy’s chainsaw is covered under a lifetime warranty for being crushed by a tree?
Now he can invent the “Turbofan Engine Stump Grinder.”
Towers are safe. It can be hard to get past the places where they bottle-neck down in size, though.

That click bait thumbnail sure grabbed me. It looked uncanny valley, I did not realize it was very good AI. You tube is my TV... plus some videos on X. You tube will be less conservative censoring during the Trump era. They better be!
