Don’t know a single movie or actor/actress in the list.
And don’t care.
“Don’t mind me (😬), I just wanted to finish my train of thought from the earlier post.”

“Anora” — Latin meaning honor, yet
I couldn’t even sort through the slop of the plot summary on the wiki page.
I’d never even heard of this movie until now, or if I had I forgot completely. I’d say I’m not missing anything, but there’s high value in the title, especially in light of the timing.
Best Picture:
Or, how to redeem even the name of a stripper (”Ani” means “I” in Hebrew, which is “Я” in Russian, Ukrainian).
I had just mentioned that “Я” around here last night, completely unaware of this movie. As a matter of fact, that post is timestamped 3 min and 4 seconds after:
7 p.m. ET
What time do the Oscars start? The live broadcast of the Oscars begins at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT. You read that right: 7 p.m., not 8 p.m. as they have been in prior years.

Я means “I”, but Я also has a name in the spelling alphabet:
Yakov

Back to Anora — “starring Mikey Madison” (come on folks, what are the odds here?!)
Wiki has a Hebrew page so while the spelling is obvious enough, there it is:
אנורה
Which permutes to ha-aron, “the” Ark —
הארון
And *that* post about the Ark getting confused with the United States was ~ 2 1/2 hours earlier —

Handy that she’s being towed right to where the hospital ship Comfort is sitting, waiting for her first patient after her big overhall. Apparently this can’t even wait until she departs the shipyard. Must be serious.
Anyone gonna argue that the United States is in desperate need of a healing?

It is customary to give a new name to a dangerously sick person. The sick person has already fulfilled his destiny according to his original name, and is therefore ready to die. We then give him a new name, thereby also giving him a new mission. The sick person can now continue to live and complete the mission associated with his new name.

In ancient texts we find, “Tell me your name, and I will tell you who you are.” A person’s name encapsulates his personality, virtues, and potential, as well as the role assigned to him in this world.

At a somewhat deeper spiritual level, we find that a person’s life unfolds according to the letters that form his name, especially in light of the possible combinations of these letters. A person’s name can influence his destiny and future for good or bad, as emerges from the Zohar: “[T]he name is of great significance and potency, and the combination of letters with one another works either for good or bad. Connected with this mystery is the combination of the letters of the holy Names, and even the letters in themselves can be made to reveal supreme mysteries” (Zohar II:179b)

“R” is for reverse, so would not “Я” indicate moving forward finally?
The super EZ way to remember the name of the king in the Purim story (Purim — which is all about the revealing of the hidden — is incoming on Pi Day) is by way of the iconic toy stores:
AHAS-Я-US

I only look forward to the Oscars to see the gowns on the Red Carpet. This year even that was a disaster. Obviously, designers have run out of ideas. Most of the strapless gowns were ill fitting, too low cut and smashing the woman’s breasts. Salena Gomez, a very pretty girls look absolutely matronly. Somehow, I don’t think that was the look she was going for. There was one middle aged blonde woman who looked familiar but had so much plastic surgery as to be unidentifiable. I scrolled down to the name and it was Goldie Hawn.
Everyone who didn’t tune in were winners
heck, even Bill Maher nailed it: he said in Friday night’s Real Time monologue, that the Oscars are a national rite of television watching where we turn to each other and say, “No, I haven’t heard of that one either.”
“Zoe Saldaña — who became the first American of Dominican descent to win an Oscar”
Darn! I missed seeing that important “first.” I can’t believe I missed that.
These movies sound terrible. I will never watch them. What else is new?
I'm waiting for the first homosexual Dominican to win, that will really be worth celebrating.
I don’t know why I clicked this link: I haven’t cares about entertainment awards for years.
That's a very easy question, and has only one answer:
EVERYBODY that didn't watch the oscars won the Oscars.
Yawn
The author says Brody won hus first at 29 and was the youngest winner?
What about Tatum O’Neil? She was pre teen.
