So now we celebrate whores, wonderful.
I remember years ago, we’d seen all the movies that were up for best picture, knew the actors and actresses - and eagerly anticipated the Oscars. We even filled out the forms in the paper and placed small bets on the outcome.
Haven’t watched it in at least a decade and never plan to again, and I love movies...
The only one I saw was “The Substance” - not best picture material, but Demi Moore was robbed of the Oscar, IMO.
Have no desire to see any of the movies listed, especially one about a sex worker.
The Oscar for the least curious about what Hollywood craps out, goes to me!
“I’d like to thank everyone for turning me completely off movies and it’s self centered and egotistical players”
š“š“š“š“š“š“š“. As irrelevant as grammys, nobells, pulitzers, emmys, civilian peace prizes........
Wow, I have actually heard of ONE of these people:
Adrian Brody
A very good actor. Not on the screen for his looks.
I have not seen any of these movies though.
I did watch “Oppenheimer” over the weekend on Prime.
It was pretty well done. Of course, they had to make it more about the fact that he associated with communists than a brilliant physicist.
It’s like awarding a garbage dump a “Good Housekeeping” seal. The “ Oscars “ are a joke.
I think I won simply by being completely unaware of the existence of any of these movies, or that it was Oscar night.
I saw a picture of TimothƩe Chalamet as he was dressed for the Academy Awards that someone posted yesterday on Facebook.
It was a matching YELLOW pants and waste coat.
I made the comment that it reminded me of what disco dancing men wore back in the 1980s. Called a LEISURE SUIT.
My post/comment actually received a return comment from someone who called themselves TimothƩe Chalamet in kind of broken English language. I should have saved the post because both mine and the reply were deleted/gone later.
Wonderful, such diversity of representation at the Oscarās. Never mind that if you are white and straight and had a white and straight cast your film wouldnāt qualify for a nomination, even if you made the film Titanic. Itās not the quality of the movie that matters, itās about the diversity of your cast and crew.
I never even heard of these films (well, I did see ads for The Brutalist). They should probably do the Oscars 3 years after the fact when everyone had a chance to see them in Netflix or Amazon.
“Who won Oscars for 2025?”
Is that still a “thing”?
Hollywood is DEAD. FH
Who is this āOscarā they speak of?
Dang, missed it again. Looking forward to missing it again next year.
“Anorak” is basically a reimsging of “Pretty Woman.”
“Anora” is basically a reimaging of “Pretty Woman.”
"...but have won for Best Picture. "The Shape of Water" is a remarkably bad film, loved by all āartistsā in the Academy. It won Best Picture in 2017. It featured a gay character who didn't need to be gay, but every award-winning movie must have a gay character. It's a rule. The government agent in the film is an evil knuckle-dragger, because America is mean and evil.Ā Ā"Moonlight" won Best Picture in 2016. Its main character is a black gay guy.
In 2018, "Green Book" won Best Picture. A main character in "Green Book" is a brilliant musician - also, a black gay guy. Ā
"Conclave" is about a pope who is a chick pretending to be a man.
"The Brutalist" has a gay main character who viciously rapes the protagonist, so, points against it because the gay guy is a vile human. But itās allegorically anti-American; it's a "draw" on the pro/con virtue points scale.
"Anora" glorifies/condones prostitution.
Emelia PerezāThe lead is played by Karla SofĆa Gascón. Gascón is a āperson of color.ā He's a biological man who pretends to be a chick in real life. His character is a man pretending to be a chick in his fake life. Ergo, the first transgender man to be nominated for best actress.
The Most Depressing Film Iāve Seen In A While Is Somehow A āMust Watch"
Who won?
Who cares?
Who cares?
I quit watching the Oscars when I realized I had never heard of any of the movies nominated.
Just thankful that no talent, obnoxious Cynthia Erivo didn’t win. She’s intolerable.
