When the album was released, the reviews were lukewarm, and the previous “Low” had been regarded as a better album. A truncated version of “Heroes” was released as a single and failed to chart.
I liked the tune at the time, and translated it into Latin as excepted for one subjunctive, was very easy to do.

I like Bowie but when I saw they said the name of this song I thought of this one instead. Prefer it.
