A high school in Minnesota was forced to cancel a field trip scheduled only for students who 'identify as a person of color' after a civil rights complaint was filed.
Mark Perry, a community member and retired professor in Twin Cities in Minnesota, saw information on the field trip, which allegedly only was available to students who identified as students of color, on social media.
The trip for Highland Park High School offered a chance for students to be exposed to digital marketing and advertising careers, according to Perry.
Perry told the Star Tribune that the event, which has been alleged to have discriminated against white students in the civil rights complaint, violated Title VI of the federal Civil Rights Act.
He also said that it equally violated the district's own anti-discrimination policy.
'They maybe should have understood this was a problem before, but at least once it was brought to their attention,' he told Fox 9.
'That's the least I can expect then, that then they would do the right thing and comply with federal Civil Rights Laws - which in this case was cancelling the program or maybe it was too late to open it up to all students.'
Within hours of contacting the school, he received a messaged back that said the trip had been canceled.

Highland Park is the very upscale neighborhood that is within the Saint Paul city limits. Favorite residence area for all kinds of government employees. The high school used to be mocked for all the rich Jewish kids.
Highland Park started as a working class area for the once-sprawling Ford auto plant.

Does a biracial child get to go on both non-white and white field trips or on no field trips? We need to stop keeping data about anything but related medical information based on race. Until then, there is no hope for the unification of our country.

And they’re happy to do so. Makes ‘em feel virtuous. They’re only happier when they can force white people from outside of the Twin Cities metro area to pay for their dysfunctional inner city problems.
I recall one morning in San Diego when the news announced that whites were no longer the majority in California. There was immediate concern that the term "minority" was no longer synonymous with "not white". The lefty radio hosts couldn't grasp the consequences. How would laws have to be re-written to continue discrimination against whites and preferences for non-whites? Their bias was crystal clear.
That does make you wonder, doesn't it? The working world being promoted will, I'm afraid, contain white people. The truth, I gather from the article, was that the agency arranging the trip made the decision from its own DEI point of view. There are a lot of racists in that business.
Too bad. A once nice school in a still very nice neighborhood until a certain segment of the population was bussed in.

I remember in Minneapolis in the 1970’s/80’s, kids being forced bused to schools outside their neighborhood by the democrats.
I moved to south central rural Kentucky 13 years ago. I was shocked that some still call them “colored” in this area. And some of them that use that word are, in fact, “colored” themselves.
Fact is, the only negative word is one that is intentionally insulting, like the N-word, “spear chucker”, “jungle bunny” or other colorful colloquialisms. And “mud-shark” is a backhanded insult. Heck, we call “lowlife” white people “white trash”, and my take is the word for “lowlife black people is, in fact, the N-word. Yet nobody dings you for saying “white trash”.
The other funny thing is that none of the names anybody uses to insult white people have any affect on me at all. Words like cracker, etc. After all, why do you think they call it “Cracker barrel”? 🤣
And I suspect self respecting black people don’t care what you call them, and the word you use is a reflection of you, not them.

The end of that skit chevy said “ni**er.” Richard Pryor said, “Dead honky!” I remember that skit. I was in college and never missed a show. Stopped watching after the original cast drifted away for bigger and better.
