The Hanson family says they were left distraught when their feline Sunny-Loo suddenly vanished just as movers arrived to help shift them from Washington state to Colorado last month.

Hanson, his wife, Kristen, and their two daughters, Hannah and Adalyn, searched high and low but were ultimately forced to leave without their beloved pet.

Despite family and friends in Washington keeping up the search, the family said they had started to lose hope they would ever lay eyes on Sunny-Loo again.

That is, until their belongings finally arrived — and the girls took a seat on the sofa bed.

“We heard a meow!” Hannah said.

Hard to believe the story of a cat not eating or drinking water for three weeks. Hope the story is true.....

Time to go shopping for a brand new sofa.
Just don’t go to IKEA, unless you’re into putting giant sized puzzles together.

It’s not physically possible so there must be more to it.

MAYBE 5 days, I GUESS.

They are in a lot of trouble after 3 days.

Time to go shopping for a brand new sofa.

For sure. The cat wno't go near it again and it probably retained a lot of cat excrement before things started drying up.

No food or water for three weeks?
I do not believe this is true.

Cats are bizarrely resilient. Don’t know if they are that resilient.

The man who was trapped under the Nimitz freeway for 28 days was eventually rescued but his kidneys had failed due to lack of water and he passed away not long after.

a person can go 3 weeks without food- but supposedly only 3 days without water- maybe there was a missing water bottle in the seat cushions lol

There must have been a lot of dropped chips and other snacks in those sofa cushions.

Happy ending. That’s good.

An oddity about the famous author Jerzy Kosiński who wrote Being There, Steps and the Painted Bird. Hiding inside a sofa.
“Known for his playful stunts, he was apt to arrive at social events disguised with a wig or a false mustache, and he liked to find a hiding place and disappear for hours.”

One of his favorites was to pre-plan a way to get under the back cushions of a sofa before a large party started and hide there while guests wondered where he was going to meet them.

As a Jewish child during the Holocaust he was given a new identity and name but the people who took him in brutally beat and mistrated him for years, once so badly he was unable to speak for 6 months.

Under the pseudonym Joseph Novak, he published two very critical books about life under Communism, The Future Is Ours, Comrade (1960), and No Third Path (1962).
This led to the suspicion by national magazine journalists that he was sponsored secretly by the CIA, a rumor he had to combat for years.
Great article from Vanity Fair:

Maybe there was something for the cat to munch on in the moving van. Box full of food or something, with enough water content. Maybe some rain or snow melt got inside the truck it could drink from?

Cat have an uncanny instinct to go into a metabolic stasis under extreme conditions. I have no idea what evolutionary environments gave them this ability, but I have heard of several stories similar to this one.

God is capable of miracles for animals.
He made them and loves them as much or more than we do.

I used to know a vet in HK who wrote paper on what she called “The Flying Cat Syndrome”. In places where cats live in high buildings they will occasionally fall out a high rise window. Almost miraculously the cats could often survive a fall from 40 stories or higher. If the fall was from 10 to 20 stories they always died. They’d break bones when they fell from higher floors up but live.

She surmised that in longer falls they relaxed and spread out to slow themselves down but didn’t know because there was no way to experiment except by tossing animals out of high windows which was not ethical
