I did enjoy "The Last Showgirl" starring Pamela Anderson, it wasn't G-rated but it plays as a sort of reverse objectification of the main character and reclaiming of feminine agency. Which Anderson seems to be doing offscreen as well. :)
Hollyweird
“Sex worker.” Yet another example of how the left has changed language to try to legitimize immoral activity. Not long ago, she would have been called a prostitute or hooker. “Sex worker” makes it seem like it’s just another job - like a construction worker.
Then I learned it was about a guy who escaped the Holocaust, and it was a definite "no".
I have the greatest empathy for those poor souls who were persecuted by the Germans, but I do not wish to watch depressing movies. No movies about sick or dead/dying children, or divorce, or WWII prisoner movies of any kind, Bridge on the River Kwai excepted.
Do you have a fixation on porn? Why did you even post a review of this “soft porn” movie?
There is a reason actors in ancient Rome were considered on the same social scale as prostitutes.
What was “Pretty Woman”?
“I object to all this sex on the television.
I mean, I keep falling off!”
Anora is really good. It’s porn at all.
Honestly, I’ve never visited a sex worker. I don’t know any sex workers. While my libertarian views on sex workers lean towards “freedom” to sell yourself…I don’t care enough about them to watch a movie about the subject.
I think the interesting aspect of the movie is how cheaply it was produced. Good for those people. Indie films will save Hollywood.
And Bill Clinton said oral sex isn’t sex.
