Phil Collins’ health is deteriorating. “I keep thinking I should go downstairs to the studio and see what happens,” the retired Genesis musician, 74, told Mojo magazine earlier this week. “But I’m not hungry for it anymore. The thing is, I’ve been sick, I mean very sick…”
The group performed their last concert in March 2022 as part of their “The Last Domino?” Tour. Although Collins’ former bandmate Peter Gabriel didn’t participate in the gig, he still attended the London show and observed the performance from afar. “Phil wasn’t in as great a shape as he used to be, but they did a great job,” Gabriel admitted. “Me going was a rite of passage, really. I’d been part of the creation of Genesis, so I wanted to be there at the end.”
Collins sang while sitting in a chair as his son Nic Collins, 23, took over for him on the drums. Seven months later, the duo spoke about their line of work and the struggles that accompany it in the documentary “Phil Collins: Drummer First,” which debuted on YouTube in December 2022.

Boy talk about an exclusive club
People don’t understand, some musicians take great interests in their videos, and micromanage them. But most are just told to show up, or aren’t even involved at all.
*cough* Billy Squier *cough*
Didn't he fax his wife the divorce papers which was her first notice he was divorcing her?
Tacky.
And he dumped a local CBS reporter, Dana Tyler, who he had been dating for 9 years, in order to get back with the third wife before she dumped him. Tyler was so broken up about it she had to take 9 months off from work.
Phil was a bit of a prick- according to his first wife she never cheated with a painter yet said Collins was so mean she left him in England and moved back to Canada where she was from.
Evidently she never toured with Genesis but was really looking forward to going to Japan with them in the latter 70’s. Phil got pissed off at something and made her watch as he called the tour manager to inform him the wife would not be accompanying them to Japan.
Eddie Vedder never registered with me. I was in San Diego in the 90s.
Nope. nothing.
Alice In Chains however. Yes
I always preferred Collins led Genesis to Gabriel.
So you know Spock’s Beard??
Check out End of the Day off V
I think “A Trick Of The Tail” is the perfect album, every song on it is fantastic.
Bands had to evolve over time or become irrelevant by the time the 80s came around. Yes, King Crimson, Genesis all radically changed their sound to find success in the 80s.
Oops. I can’t believe he lost his fans because of a stupid video.
He and his son, Jack, had a show, Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour, where they went back to the Alamo and got a tour.
Whether all his work does any good, I don't know.
That was debunked. But his third wife told him by text she was leaving him for someone else.
I always thought Neil Peart was a good drummer, I always thought Caroline Corr was too. Caroline Georgina Corr (born 17 March 1973) is an Irish singer and drummer for the Celtic folk rock band the Corrs. Lay down some triples and quads lady. I’ll watch. Charlie would be proud.
Yep, because Phil’s Tarzan song beat out “Blame Canada” for the Oscar for Best Song.
...and his pants. Very 70s. I also like Frank's outfit. He looks like he was ready to do some shopping at Walmart.
Reading a King novel now. He used to be a good writer, but his political dumb-assery is hard to get past.
DeNiro same - I can never see him w/out thinking about those platform lifter shoes!
“Remember when Phil Collins drowned a guy?”
