Hooters of America is reportedly working with creditors on a plan to restructure its business through bankruptcy court in the coming months.
According to Bloomberg, sources familiar with the matter, who requested anonymity, say the company is collaborating with the law firm Ropes & Gray to prepare a filing. The court process is expected to begin within the next two months.
Last year, Hooters announced the closure of a number of underperforming locations, becoming part of a broader trend of casual dining chains shutting down restaurants amid industry challenges. While facing "pressure from current market conditions," Hooters emphasized

Hooters needs a better financial foundation to push out their balloon payments and strengthen their bottom line. Then they’ll have the legs to proceed forward.

We were at a Hooters only once, and went out laughing. The server had those inflated lips. The lip job was so poor she looked like those monkeys that could turn their lips outward. To this day I call her monkey lips. She was a very pretty blonde with good natural features and screwed it all up with those stupid monkey lip injections.
The food sucked, never went back.
That there’s a lot of competition. Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery, Twin Peaks, Ojos Locos, Bikinis Sports Bar & Grill, The WingHouse Bar & Grill, Redneck Heaven, and Bombshells Bar & Grill. And that’s just national chains.
I sadly went to high school with the ugly girl holding that sign.
She was unpleasant as she looks.
