“The quick-wittedness that he has is really second to none,” People fully grasp how serious and thoughtful he is about what he does. He can be informative; he can be offensive; he can be hilarious. He’s certainly going to be provocative. But at the base level, it’s based on preparation as much as anything else.”

We watched him once last week — the first time in months.
We were not impressed at all. Used to love watching him.
Good well written article with several surprising disclosures.
I did not initially, but now I look forward to his show. The language can be off-putting but let’s face it, the words aren’t unfamiliar.
I wouldn’t call it filthy; more like adolescent potty humor. Having said that, though, I pick out the humor and truth from the scat, because at the end of the day, the show is definitely politically conservative.
Why would anyone aspire to be like Mahar? He picks positions at random, except his blind hatred of DJT. He has no principles except keeping his face in front of a camera.
I agree. I’ve watched a couple times and there’s usually a few good quips, but the monologue IMO goes on way too long and 2/3 of the jokes don’t land.
as depression-inducing and demoralizing the age of Obama has been - it would have been a lot rougher go without Gutfeld! His show makes me (and my devout church-going wife) laugh a lot.
NYT "Pinch" was always a good bit...
Agreed. I’m not a fan.
same here. I usually only watch half of the show and I get burnt out though.
We saw him in Nashville around three years ago. Not funny. We certainly wanted him to be but he wasn't.
The other 25% is joking about Joy Behar.
Started watching with Red Eye. Good show. I likedTV’s Andy Levy and Bill but I could see even early on that Greg made the show work.
I see many parallels between Greg and I. Same BD, same college, lived in SM, but he’s was cool and I was plain Jane. Oh well, got to enjoy these things as they come along.
I’m much rather watch snippets of Conan O’Brien. He’s funny without being a potty mouth.
Same here. He got me hooked with Red Eye, which with Tom Shillue, was better than his current Gutfeld show.
To me he is as witty and incisive as W.F Buckley, who could also deliver a mean retort.
Gutfeld gives great off the wall analogies.
I don’t like his 4letter words either, but I’m glad he finally came around to our side, politically.
The role of Ombudsman was relegated to an animated figure after Andy Levy left the show...I don’t remember what name he was given or if he even had a name.
i stopped watchign late night comedy shows after Johhny Retired=- i did watch a little leno, but not much- he was no carson-
Leno funny?, perhaps not, but he was head and shoulders above the crop of late nighters we currently have.
