Well it’s not a toll bridge tax. If you live say in upper Manhattan, you’ll pay to drive south of 60th St. without crossing any bridge also.

“What? Every bridge and tunnel into NYC is tolled there is no free alternative.”

That’s not true. At least, it wasn’t previously. There were/are free bridges from Long Island and the Bronx. It is true that all crossings of the Hudson River south of Albany are tolled though.

Trumps move here is 100% populist political red meat, with a small side of jiving judicial word salad.
This is Donald Trump at his finest. Screwing the NY Democrats via a very well recieved Executive Order. No matter what the outcome in NY’s stacked bs court system, this helps NY Republicans, because NY hoi polloi hate congestion pricing.

States need to be free to handle their affairs if NJ is pissed who cares they can choose to not do business with NYC ha good luck with that.

That is how you get Civil Wars and why the States agreed to terms when joining the Union.

If New Jersey slapped a large enough toll on vehicles entering NJ from New York City, the Federal government would be sending in troops to prevent New York City from having food riots in 3 days due to the costs for all those delivery trucks returning from deliveries.

If New Jersey slapped a large enough toll on trucks driving on a road from the ports in New Jersey, the Federal government would be sending in troops to prevent New York City from having food riots in 3 days.

In this administration, the most important thing in these political/legal disputes is philosophical and legal consistency. The worst thing they could do is take the approach that state law should override federal authority in a congestion tolling case in New York, while filing legal challenges to state laws and regulations in a California over vehicle emissions standards and requirements for electric vehicles under the exact opposite legal reasoning.

He/she/it (leaning heavily towards the she/it side) seems addicted to gamer/coder acronyms.

polysyllabic is my middle name.
