The vehicle plunged almost 800m (2625 ft) into a ravine in the southwestern district of Yocalla, an officer said.

Bolivia has notoriously dangerous roads, particularly in mountainous areas.
The accident happened between the cities of Potosí and Oruro, police said.
Officials believe that the crash could have been caused by speeding, with the driver "unable" to control the bus, police colonel Victor Benavides told the AFP news agency.

It doesn’t help that they pack their buses to the gills with people and caged livestock going to market.
WOW! They fell 2625 feet and there were 14 survivors! I guess they were up to date on their prayers. RIP the other 40.
Trump’s Fault.
“They fell 2625 feet and there were 14 survivors”
Not a free fall. More of a roll down the side of the ravine.
But still amazing that there were survivors.
2,625 feet. Almost exactly 1/2 of a mile. That’s a long time to wait for impact. God keep this people in his care.

We were on a similar road in the Taiwan mountains a few yrs ago. Bus coming to take us back was delayed for hrs due to rock slide. Next day watching the news the road collapsed and a full bus fell 800 ft and killed everyone on board.
When I was a youth, I would have been interested in going yo Europe: Germany, France, Italy. No more. I have changed, and Europe has changed more. I am now 150 miles from the Mexican border, and the onky reason I could think of for going there would be to get car upholstery done cheap. Hard pass.
I’ve driven some of those roads, at every sharp corner there is a shrine to those who did a Perter Pan off the edge. They’re everywhere. I’m amazed any survived.
That actually kind of looks like fun.
