Like I commented a few days ago:

“Just for general information, there have been P-8s and Rivet Joint aircraft flying along the border for several days. That’s new, and they’re not doing that for nothing.”

And right now there’s a P-8 headed from Jacksonville to south Texas.

"SF will scout out and laze targets if needed. I expect lots of it is going to be pinpoint bombing to take out the leadership rather than on the ground combat."

I expect that also. Ground cleanup would be targeted at the Cartel Bosses wannabes. Most are just punks.

"Our guys better focus on making sure their families don’t get whacked."

There is that. However, the top tier Spec Ops guys are mostly faceless from what I understand.

I am confused at the opposition to this. The narrative has always been “we need to fight the terrorists over there so we don’t have to fight them in our backyard”. And now that they are actually “in our Backyard” we now don’t want to even protect our own southern border and “fight them over there”?

Because there is no money in it or what? This is exactly what we should have done decades ago. Five decades or more ago... Help the Mexican people fix Mexico so they DO NOT NEED TO TRY AND COME HERE AT ALL. Help Mexico make themselves a productive country with a good economy so they are not poor anymore. This is a start towards that advantageous situation.

And it is now a mistake? To think this is completely illogical... It is exactly what we have needed to do for a long time...

Why? SF will scout out and laze targets if needed. I expect lots of it is going to be pinpoint bombing to take out the leadership rather than on the ground combat.

The Mexican government is just one of many transnational drug cartels in Mexico why not use the US Special Forces to take out their competition.

Agree. I think it is great! Many have been saying that our troops are needed at our border, not in foreign countries across the ocean. Go for it!

It is about d&^% time.

Absolutely, I am perplexed by those who have cried to no end about illegal immigrants and drugs coming over the border for decades, and now all of a sudden they are not wanting to actually do something about it?

It makes absolutely no sense, It is scatter brained, make your damned mind up. Why did we elect Trump if we didn’t want to actually do something SUBSTANTIAL about the border?

Good and finally.

Mexico has been a thorn in our side long enough. Like Michael told Fredo about his wife who was acting up at a party......”Take care of her or I will.”

Mexico has proven it cannot take of these cartels that has caused incalculable damage, destruction, and grief to the USA.

So we will have to take care of them ourselves. And they won’t know what hit em. And like ISIS.....pretty soon they will be gone. Hopefully....forever.

Sending handfuls of men to fight an entire culture.

The only reason the cartels get any support is fear, intimidation and money. Once we show people we can wipe them out anytime we want with military force AND economic pressure they won't be back.

Me too. The only thing I can think of is that there's fear people pot supply is going to get too expensive for their habit.

We are both right. In the book POTUS sends special forces to go after the cartels but it was a covert op versus this one which seems to have the Mexican Government approval.

Scheinbaum and other assorted politicians will stomp their feet and scream from the hilltops about the Gringo Invasion. But when they regular people can go out safely again their minds were change. See El Salvador with Bukele.
