Sarah Palin: 'I'd Love to Serve' in Trump Administration
Newsmax ^

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin expressed frustration over not being asked to serve in the Trump administration, saying the president's "gatekeepers" are "tight."

Speaking to NewsNation's "On Balance With Leland Vittert" on Friday, the former Republican vice-presidential candidate said she's "frustrated" that she hasn't been asked to be a part of the administration.

"I thought that there would be a position in Energy in that Department, because that's my baby: wanting energy independence for America. You know, that's all about security and sovereignty of our nation is to be energy independent," Palin said. "But that hasn't happened."

The 2008 running mate of the late Sen. John McCain said she's been surprised that her background in an energy-rich state and national politics has kept her off the administration's short list.

"I didn't even get credentials to attend the GOP convention, if you can believe it," she added. "They're tight. They're tight.

"And I'm the only living Republican nominee who had run for VP or president who supported Trump. And even I couldn't get in. So, you know, yeah, they're pretty tight ... but I'd love to serve."

Palin, who unsuccessfully ran for Congress in 2022, predicted that if Trump isn't able to get his mandate through, some personnel changes are likely to happen early.

"If things aren't going to be smooth, if his agenda is not going to be ushered in per the vote of the people, the wishes of the people, then I think they will regroup and maybe already change some persons," she said.

Why does she want a government job so badly that she goes public with implicit criticism of President Trump for not paying attention to her ?

Sarah Palin was an enemy of “The Swamp” before President Trump uttered the phrase to describe it.

Thanks for sticking up for her on this thread. Too many here disparaging her, using leftist talking points too. Embarrassing actually.

She was destroyed by the left (and the RINOs), fought valiantly for the principles Trump now champions, the ones we all love. She simply deserves better.

Palin earned her place on the list of effective revolutionary conservative giants who earned their place on that short list, and when they were most needed.

I do not know.

Mothered seem to be many questions that could be asked with no answers that I know of so far.

Why did a leader so famous for valuing loyalty ignore a loyal political figure who blazed a trail for him to follow?

Ambassador to Russia ... great idea for Sarah!

She could even walk to work, depending on the ice situation between Little Diomede and Big Diomede Islands. It’s only 2.5 miles.

“And I didn’t vote Romney because he’s s liar and I hate Paul Ryan.”

Yep..... matter of fact I wrote Sarah’s name on the Presidential ballot that year. Romney... Ryan... spit.

Thank you for your comments! My dearest friend was a major player in starting the Tea Party .The Republicans were instrumental in causing her to have major health problems with law-fare, harassment and legal costs for years. She was an amazing woman and one of my heroines. She was like Sarah and was not rolling in money. It took a terrible toll on her. She died of an heart attack.

If she wants political power she needs to win races in Alaska. I doubt that is going to happen.

I liked Sarah a lot as an anecdote to the top of the McCain ticket.

My recollections:

Sarah was attacked by "Republican" McCain campaign advisor Steve Schmidt and "Republican" media talking head Nicolle Wallace in the aftermath of the lost election. It was the first I had ever heard of them. I immediately pegged the two as dishonest leftist tools and events have since proven my assessment 100% correct.

Sarah has an annoying voice, but her espoused views were solidly conservative.

I seem to recall one time toward the end of a Rush Limbaugh program he said that Sarah was in the studio. I suspect she had shown up un-announced. He didn't put her on the air. At the time she had just had a book published (which I had purchased).

Palin has always been a tease. Always saying she may run for something, but doesn’t. She got out of the spotlight. Her family was more in the spot light than her. Sarah’s time passed a long time ago.
