“Bush walk” with no guide”
Wow, then they were incredibly stupid. Unfortunately a lot of people are like that in wild areas.
A friend of mine went out to the front porch of a cabin because a bear was sniffing around. She told me she wanted to pet it. The bear left, she didn’t die but if she did ,I wouldn’t blame the bear, the cabin owner or anyone else but her.
I had to pay the tour guide extra to get that done.
In the gloaming twilight just West of Glacier way up past Polebridge hard by the Candian border, we saw outside our 1890 cabin a huge brown thing destroying the footbridge over a small creek.
Spooky. Got my Ruger handy and watched for about 30 minutes, in case that was Griz and he turned his attention to the old cabin.
Eventually, the activity stopped and he went away through the dark woods.
In the morning, we discovered that it had been the reclusive neighbor we had been warned about, taking out the bridge to his property so that visitors like us to the AirBNB cabin wouldn’t go wandering onto his property.
“Always know your target and what is beyond it!”
