Oh boy! Another made-up pant-load of bovine excrement!
All with no basis in anything other than pure speculation. Science!

I’ve often wondered why other hair isn’t longer. Why does arm and leg hair stop growing at such a short length, but male beards can grow to any length.

My FIL always wondered why “evolved” humans had ass hair while many lower animals did not. If these intellects can solve that one, I’ll donate a dozen rolls of what those blue bears wipe their bums with.

Humans are the only mammals with long hair on their heads.

Wait, are you saying these gals aren't human? They sure have no long hair.

It is a marker of health, to have healthy hair. Especially if you are a woman.

Bull$#!+. If it had anything to do with being in the desert camels would have hair on their head and hump and nowhere else. Head hair evolved so baby humans could have something to hold on to while they were in the water with their mothers. Humans evolved fingers and thumbs so they could hold on to their mother’s hair. At least partly.

It would be difficult to grow one’s hair Head hair wouldnt get long, if it were curly. Curly hair has an oval cross-section. Long hair has a round cross-section.

That said, my Dad—as a boy—had straight hair. Returning from Navy PBY service in WWII, his hair had turned curly.

He never mentioned this phenomenon.

If humans evolved long hair as sun protection then why do so many adult men NOT have long hair? Do they not need sun protection?

Read “The Descent of Woman” by Elaine Morgan. Such a drastic mutation as continuously growing head hair in adult females is, by necessity, connected to procreation and child rearing.

Humans have the longest comparative child rearing lifespan of all animals. It requires drastic measures. Mothers and babies are key. Humans evolved in a marine environment during a critical period when land predators ran mothers and their infants into the surf. Mothers with upright gaits and long hair, along with swimming babies with strong hand grips, became requirements of human survival.

Fathers were unimportant.

“The absence of fur and abundance of sweat glands helped keep the body cool even after bouts of exercise, such as hunting animals.”

Not sure this will go over well with the ‘Vegan crowd’.
