March marks the five-year anniversary of the COVID-19 pandemic, a collective trauma that New Englanders faced together. For an upcoming story to mark the anniversary, the Globe is asking readers to share their memories of moments from the pandemic.
Examples: Memories of being sent home from school or work, losing a loved one, new routines you created in isolation, including on Zoom; getting your first vaccine, going back to school or work; seeing someone without a mask for the first time.
Please share photos, videos, social media posts and written recollections of no longer than 100 words.

My dad demanded to know why I wouldn’t get a covid shot and I said “I’ll tell you why, I don’t trust the government, that’s why.”
I accepted the severance payout so I most likely have no recourse other than suggesting I signed under duress.
Overall, it gave me the opportunity to find fully remote work that allowed me to finally escape from NJ so I can't complain.
My only real regret is I didn't escape 30 years earlier.
Wow 5 years. It’s crazy how time flys. I actually have some great memories during that time. More family dinners. My granddaughter came to stay with me. I was a tough one. Printed out tons of work sheets to keep her busy. And when she was done with her grade level we moved on to the next. Discussed current affairs each day. I helped her to see things differently (if you know what I mean). Not just one view point as those Milwaukee schools were teaching her. Bought her a ATV to ride around the property. Decided to start my bucket list early. Bought a camper van and traveled the country. Did 26 states in 2020. Stopped at every open state/federal park or monument we passed. Made some lasting friendships. Spent more time taking care of and bonding with my mother. Loved the time we spent on ancestry searching the family tree.
On the flip side I do blame covid lockdown for accelerating my mother’s dementia. It had a terrible social impact on my mother and others close to me. The lack of human interaction and the loneliness for them was excruciating. That is still with many. Kinda like PTSD.
My wife cutting my hair on the back patio.
I asked her for a "Trey Gowdy" cut, she said my head wasn't near pointy enough.
My wife got ONE of two vax shots, and refused any more. We soon will be 79, and 78. I haven't had a flu shot in the last 50 years, myself.
Teams meetings instead of in person meetings allowed documents to be inserted and HR always was snooping into these meetings and their presence were known.
These dumpster fires benefited many employees.
I had violated three rules we were told pre ChinaVirus:
1) Don't draw attention to yourself
2) Don't rock the boat
3) Don't make career limiting moves
Shout out to impimp. He deserves a world of credit for hitting it right out of the gate, pulling no punches with fearmongers and those who were clearly paid to propagandize for their Pfascist bosses.
Even though I’m a Mass. resident, I was in Kansas for 20 months. Things started to return to normal in Kansas after the 2 week vacation.
I still have deal with the aftermath of The Coof when dealing with my friends in Mass. The slightest possibility of The Coof & they’re popping Pfizermectin.
The fire department’s ended up having to work at the shot clinics. We worked support and medical monitoring of the people after they got the shot. One of the most sad memories is how many people I talked to who had not been out of their home or in a public building in over a year.
Another is an EMS call we made after Biden forced people to get the shot or lose their job where our patient died right in front of their friend and the friend revealed that they had the discussion regarding the risks and had taken it under duress.
To see the disordered minds spewing garbage that "you need to take the shot in order for mine to work". People who repeated that lie, who worked in any korporate or government capacity, should be sitting in prison for the rest of their lives - either they knew it was a lie and said it anyway, or they didn't and are too disordered to be allowed out in public.
To see the bald-faced lies involving COVID-1984 numbers while the flu magically went to zero cases for two years. To see the entire field of epidemiology dive headfirst into a septic tank. Good riddance. May their publications and prognostications be treated like the fecal matter they are.
To see politicians violate the illegal diktats they issued on others. Sic Semper Tyrannus
To see the pathetic simps of the Propaganda Media try to prop up psychopaths such as Fauxi and NY Governor Cuomo. To watch that pathetic hobgoblin try to throw out a pitch at a baseball game. The sheer arrogance of that troll, like his day had arrived. The vicious little turd should have been dumped in the filthiest garbage can in the stadium and then thrown in a port-a-john.
To see the criminal exemptions Congress gave themselves and their staffers, along with millions of illegal aliens.
To see politicians ignore every "health" diktat to go marching cheek-to-jowl in staged protests. Every one of them needs to be in prison for that deprivation of rights when they clearly showed the diktats had no basis.
To see government agencies justify the Jim Jones Jab for commercial travelers crossing borders due to "the health risk" while intentionally ignoring how charter passengers had no shot requirements at all.
To see sick, corrupt freaks look right at a camera and insist a cheap mask was going to protect you from a coronavirus. To see them caught off-camera without a mask and putting it on to enforce the humiliation ritual the peasants were expected to go through.
At the same time, I'm very grateful because I needed to grow up along with millions of others around the world and disabuse ourselves of even the slightest notion that these perpetrators are anything but psychopaths. For as much as it disgusts me, it was enlightening to see just how depraved these people are.
I also needed to stop rejecting what I knew but didn't want to believe - that there are people who will beg to lick the boot that stomps them and abhor those who disagree. These Branch Covidians were ecstatic - their lives now had meaning, now that they could join a cult. I now accept that these people are a liability and will not have them in my life.
I was also grateful to come to the realization that I'd walk away from any job, any employer, any company, and any business, that would even think of trying to force someone to inject themself with their psychopath serum.
I am grateful to have run into so many of a like mind who weren't going to tolerate this either. I'm grateful for Project Appleseed for still holding shooting orientation events, and having the chance to attend one of the weekend shooting events in the fall of 2020.
Early on I thought it might take a generation for the government/pharmaceutical cabal to regain trust they lost but realized they had already lost it prior and didn't care to earn it back. They've thrown off their masks, threw them on the ground, and stomped on them.
I'm grateful to have learned for real to put my trust in God and not in Man.
exposing the hypocrisy of dugwayduke and entropy12...
My memory?
Wishing like all hell someone would throw Fauci off a bridge.
Wear a mask.
You are so RIGHT!
I remember going to Menards. After I got in the front door, they told me I had to wear a mask. I said AMF and left. I deliberately went into stores unmasked and dared somebody to say something to me.
I pulled up to a red light and noticed a young lady in the car next to mine. It was hot, so we both had our windows up.
I sneezed, loudly (as is normal for me).
She jerked her head in horror, grabbed her mask and put it on.
The office where I got my hearing aids told me that hearing aids sales had skyrocketed during the lockdown.
People would take off their masks, and their hearing aids would go flying. Some people didn’t notice. Some lost them down gutters.
My son gave me a bunch of crap about the covid “vax”. He told me that he wanted us to take the clot shot so that his future kids would have grandparents. I told him that I wanted the same thing therefore we were not going to take the clot shot.
Made him think just a bit.
