I get maybe 10 calls a week from “Mary” wanting to “tell me” about medicare. Now the name has changed and some guy who can barely speak English tries. I hang up or let it go to voicemail where they hang up before saying a word.
We have caller ID at work, so if I don’t recognize the number I let it go to VM..................
We get calls from “Medicare Services,” but they use spoofing location software so that caller ID tells me it’s someone calling from some location in the USA, usually a small town. Occasionally, the ID has a person’s name.
We have for a long time just not answered, but, a few months ago, I took to arguing with them, telling them I am not fooled by their scam, and telling them not to call again.
This week, I have started a new tactic. Have only had the opportunity to use it once. I blew a whistle into the phone. The female at the other end said, “What is that? What are you doing?” After 3 of my tweets she hung up.
